In the year 1758 the stalemate at the killdear front continued, both sides content to consolidate their fortifications. Small squirmishes continued however especially on the outskirts of the destroyed German port city, where an Aztec dragoon squadron was destroyed.
A probing attack was launced on the fortified German units in the hills south of Killdeer which showed the Germans were heavily ensconsed within the protection of fortified encampments high above the forests and plains south east of Killdeer. From this position lightning raids could be launched with little fear of retalliation.
This probing attack led to the destruction of the scouting party but gave valuable intelligence to the Aztec leaders. Any attack would have to skirt around these German fortifications.
Sporadic naval battles continue to be fought with the destruction of a Greek transport and the destruction of an Aztec destroyer by the greeks.
The war drags on into the year 1760 with the Germans launching a concerted push into zulu territories on Onion Isle. The wisdom of staging a two front war by the Germans is yet to be determined. Salad onion, and Spanish onion fall to the Germans.
Further German reinforcements arrive in the fortifications in the hills outside of Killdeer and the hapless Sioux civilization suffers yet again at the hands of the Germans with Three Forks falling into German control.
In an effort to isolate the German Killdeer fortifications a large Aztec cannonneer force circles to the north east and attacks fortifications outside Ayotzinco, the former Aztec village. These fortifications are quickly destroyed and a naval assault launched on the nearby village, before the cannonners once again occupy the Aztec village. Spontaneous widespread celebrations by the local populous greet the returning Aztec heroes glad to be rid of the oppressive German yoke. The young men of Ayotzinco are particularily glad to see the return of the Aztec soldiers, fearful of being conscripted into the German army by the warmongering German leader. Stories of atrocities by the barbarous Germans are common, apparently sanctioned by the The Deity. Who can fail to believe they are true, especially considering the reputation of the German overlord, who has attacked two peaceful civilisations in his insatiable appetite for land, money and technologies.
The engineers following in the wake of the Aztec army construct fortifications surrounding Ayotzinco protecting the camping armies of Azteca.
The conquest of Ayotzinco has left the German fortifications south of Killdeer isolated and outnumbered, leaving them virtually impotent, with no chance of rescue. The surrender of these units appears to be their only chance for survival, but this is unlikely as The Deity in all likelihood will choose to fight to the death, even if there is no hope, thus condemning even his own men to their graves.
The advancement further into german held Aztec territory saw the destruction of the german held city of Three forks, Wounded knee and the capture of Itzapalapa, where similar scenes as those in Ayotzinco were seen. These celebrations were short lived however as the German allies who it appears are also intent on taking Aztec lands rather than developing their own, land near Itzapalapa and completely destroy the city.
The remaining German army still on Aztec lands now finds itself completely outnumbered and with no auxiliary support. There is little hope for an army with no local population to support them, or engineers to construct fortifications and roads.
In the years to come the Aztec army will continue to occupy the entire Azteca peninsula, repopulating and rebuilding the area now barren due to the machivailian machinations of the Germans and Greeks. The construction of new cities, especially ports to the north will allow a large navy to patrol the northern to ensure the Aztecs will never be caught unawares again.

Lost in all this blather from both sides is the point that war broke out shortly after makeo unilaterally announced maritime restrictions covering approximately a fifth of the map which contravened the freedom of the seas. The DeityHydey alliance had just cause for war on this ground alone.

Yes, about two turns.
Strange that! Surely the two things couldn't be related somehow? No of course not.

The Aztecs have finally destroyed most of their former cities in the occupied territories; along with DEITIAN casualties comprising mostly just Horsemen from a previous era

hmm, both captured Aztec cities, small villages really, Itzapalapa and Ayotzinco were recaptured. Itzapalapa has been destroyed by the Greeks. Where as the two German cities, never held by the Aztecs were destroyed.
Horseman my ass. You attack with non veteran units. HA.....HA......HA

The Aztecs have many Cannon units and now have finally captured the Tactics tech. They are a threat to world peace, having rejected offers of peace that would have prevented such loss of life.

HA! The Aztecs had virtually no military, and were intent upon a peaceful existence to further the advancement of mankind towards the stars. It is only the actions of a warmongering neighbor that has seen the necessity of the construction of an army. Now that it exists it will be used with the utmost force to eradicate all traces of the Germans and Greeks on mainland Azteca and unless suitable reparations are made to the Aztecs and Zulus NO quarter will be given. The Aztec and Zulu's did not start this war, but they will surely finish it.
We again reiterate the absurdity of capturing an enemies territory and cities and then believing a peace treaty would be signed without the return of that territory. This offer was made by the Aztecs, and REJECTED by the GERMANS. They have NO cause to complain now that they are being forced back.
The Aztecs and Zulus are sick of the continual hypocrocy of the German lapdogs, the Horse nation. It is obvious the horse led civilisation is a vassal of the Germans and it makes as ill to see their attempts to appear otherwise.
The Aztecs have no wish to fight the horse nation but relations will never be cordial unless their unnacceptable attitude improves.
