Can We Have The Smileys That CivFanatcis Have?
I registered there couple days ago and I discovered lots of really good smileys. really good ones!
Some of them arent serious enough for Apolyton( ) but they have some smileys that will match the "mood" here...
Can we have them? Please?

If we do, it can mess up your browser, and increase download time for threads, and those are big trade-offs. It could work, but it will cause some people problems.

Hi Eli.
I believe that the smilies that we have right now suffice. Moreoever, Markos and I are quite busy this month so perhaps we can re-examine this possibility the same here. Besides, we like to have our own indigenous smilies.

They won't mess up browsers for smilies are simple image files. The load time does increase the first time a new smiley is encountered, however it will be stored in the local cache. So if this new smiley is used often enough load time is not a problem.

UR, the stuff eli is talking about will. I am a regular at civfanatics, and it has happened to me and a lot of others. The problem is that most of them are not so simple, but animated, and as more are added to a page, problems arise.

and since the smilies at Civfanatics are mainly animated ones, there will be a noticeable increase in thread download speed for people using modems...
