You really don't want me to reach Deity do you?
A 2000 post reduction when I'm 250 or so posts short of Deity?

Well, since it seems important to some people, the pcr is a form of deterrent.

Welcome back out of the corral.

Yes, there's a distinct possibility that at least some of AH's double logins will reach deity before he himself will.

On a side note, it must be really tough being so important in one's own mind to believe that the admins would actually keep you from getting a title that doesn't matter at all...

Well, at least you miraculously got a week off. Can't have been for good behaviour though.

MtG, I like your strictness. But, what would you do about the spammers that never care about the post count? Vacation, probably? For me the reduction wouldn't hurt much, but a three day vacation would.

I don't care about the bullsh#t post count or the bullsh#t titles. That's the point.

2000?!? OUCH.

That seems a bit excessive, doesn't it?
Are PCR's based on a percentage of total posts, or what?
I'd think a handy formula could be made, don't you?
Hell...I'd be a settler again.

Yes, I believe that PCR are a percentage, perhaps rounded off.

If people are the type who care vocally, then the pcr hurts - even if it's someone else like Horsie, the others will see it and their little post count implants will shrivel up at the thought.

For someone who doesn't care, I just vacation them.

Actually, Horsie did get off for good behavior - most people, if I talk to them by pm or ICQ afterwards, and they're reasonable, will get a reduction.

Some offenses, however, won't get any reduction, and if someone really gets an attitude, I might even increase it.

I don't believe you, Horse.
And I care for my title, I want it, but I don't at all care about my post count. For me a vacation would be veeery painful.

Ok...fair enough. But how do you determine what percentage you are going to knock off?
Might I suggest some guidelines?

10 for mild annoyance, 20 for repeated annoyance, 30 for rank incivility, 40 for momma jokes directed at the mod, 50 for references to bestiality and/or poor taste in automobiles, 60 for phonetically spelling out disgusting bodily function noises in PM's, 70 for being a Chargers fan, 80 for believing in Atlantis, 90 for thinking about buying a PT Cruiser, and, of course, 100 for being an eerily encyclopedic font of information....?

Is that about right?

That's about it, Sneakster.

Actually, if it's applied, it goes as 10% per week of ban. If I release someone early after talking with them, that's releasing them early, not changing my mind after the original "sentence", so the pcr stands.

Time off for good behaviour doesn't mean you get money off any associated fine.

I think I should post a graph relating the number of posts to the size of one's penis . I think you can guess which way the graph goes.

Through shameless promotion I had 800 hits, 60 posts and got 11 members in 24 hours - that's not bad

I'll give you a title Mike just as soon as I work out how to do that

If you WERE a Deity you would be much like Loki and destroy Apolyton upon reaching that high position!

Thus it is in the best interests of the moderators not to let you reach Deity.
