Arii/CapTVK/SF tournament game

This happened to me and Elendil in our tourney game.
You need to continue this game but get someone to join as Cap's civ and immediately RETIRE, that civ is then gone, killed, dead

Deity, yes, that is a good idea. I wasn't thinking it through. Cap's Civ could be unfair to one of the players. Better a vacuum than an agressor!

I edited the game and killed cap's english civ without looking at the map. We have agreed to not colonize his island since it has roads and irrigation and now a new greek civilization that has 2-3 cities.
We had a session on friday and made some good progress. I was able to capture smart's capitol and the pyramids as well as destroy 2-3 minor cities. He is still ahead in the powergraph though. Two new wonders were built: smart got cop obs, and I got magellan.

How come there is a new Greek civ there?
The map we got from cavebear killed civ on retirement with no new starters, I think?
