Whom are you kidding I have your large savage nation on one part of me and Spiders nation on another. The only reason i was able to hold out is that periodically i have bribed (wandering units) and then used them as defense or transport. (at a heavy cost mind you.)
I missed magellens by a turn gr..... and i built the Colossus by mistake the other session. Dead last in science and literacy, and obviously i am on way to many drugs because i don't even have any infastructure.
By the time my sorry ass gets some ships out, everyone will have stolen tech and i now need spy's or i fear my pathetic nation is coming to an end.
Apparently i continued my comedy of errors from the first game we started with Epik into this continuation, still it was a good chuckle wasn't it
I am good for tuesday nights, or whenever.
Ming are we still on for that duel (that i am losing as well) on Sat?
BTW sorry about leaving on the last turn, i accidently flip the switch on my powerbar with my toes (don't ask why) and well, the computer shut off hope that didnt' mess anything up

Me... I'm just a poor third world country in this game (and pigs fly)
And I will be around on Saturday night... usually between 10 to 11pm central, depending on when my family crashes. I was looking for you last week, but sigh, you had better things to do. So I ended up subbing for Andz in the typical Rah game. It was fun. It sure was nice for a change subbing for a decent civ. How many times have I taken over for somebody in 1800bc only to find out that don't have monarchy yet.

i will be here Saturday no doubt about it. Lol, monarchy not by then, shouldn't we be in republic at that point
Sorry for that official alliance with Z last night. Neither of us were paying attention to what the other was doing, in fact i had no idea we were even allied
Its a good thing we didn't gift those techs to each other too, would have never heard the end of it otherwise.

I have the great library... I probably would have noticed
Unless an act of god occurs or my wife has something to say about it (same thing)... I'll be looking the minute they go to bed!

Well I fear that I'm in the same boat as Merc (Pun intended )... Being the only island nation on a small map and having a nice moat has discouraged my extermintaion up to this point. Unfortunately I think Mikes and Bachs on my island have become a nice temptation for you pirate bastards .
Any further information would simply disclose my upcoming brilliant strategy, so I'll leave it for the game itself. Ming if you want to continue Saturday night I'm free...

Yeah, I was SOL on SOL. I had the inside track on that one; I think I had democracy two turns before you did, Ming, but I just didn't have the caravans waiting because I had used them all up on Leonardo's. I built Leo's, and it was only then that I realized that Ming and I were again racing to Democracy. (I thought that we'd both have to research banking on the way, but we both had it already; so I was a couple turns late getting the caravans there.) I had like 800 gold and three caravans ready, plus three or four more caravans on the way, but by the time they got there Ming had discovered Democracy and he DID have the caravans all set. Well, on the off chance that Ming would wait a turn before building SOL, I decided to go ahead with completing it. Damn, that was a mistake.
Now, I've got 400 shields tied up and no good wonders available. So, the only thing I could do is race to the next 400 shield wonder, which was Magellan's.
Since the treacherous Zylka and Merc made a formal alliance, I decided to make an informal alliance with Ming. I acquired Astronomy, which gave me the edge on Navigation, and I made some quick trade routes with Ming to give me a boost in science in order to edge out Merc.
Well, the upshot of all that was that I now had both the Lighthouse and Magellan's. Hmm, what to do? I guess I better change career paths and become a pirate. So, cancel all treaties and head to the high seas. Argh, matey.

Hmmm... Informal alliance... let me see...
"I acquired Astronomy"... he stole it...
"I made some quick trade routes with Ming... like I could stop his ships from dropping the caravans directly into my costal cities...
Next time I have an informal alliance, can somebody remember to tell me

Zylka.Merc.Spider
Oh boy Oh boy... We got to continue a game. That alone deserves a thread.
If everybody wants to continue, I thought I would do this so we don't get lost in the Setting Up IP game thread.
As far as continuing it in the future... Wednesdays work as long as Rah isn't around. But I'm sure he will be back in action soon, so maybe we want to consider another night (Tuesday), or just keep each other updated by posting here and hoping we can get together again
It was fun last night. After getting beat to the Workshop (and that did PISS me off), the race was on for SOL. I put everything toward science... rush built libraries (using most of my money) and then to my dismay, when I got democracy, it wasn't white. In dispair, I used all the caravans that had been sitting around since missing the workshop, and built it anyway.
When it was a few minutes into spiders turn, and that dreaded message hadn't appeared yet, I simply couldn't believe my luck!
MPE on the last turn was just an added bonus. Now I can at least plan my science attack until the communism is developed.
And all you guys should say thank you for me being "sciences R Us"
Everytime a ship passes... somebody steals another science... I'm glad to be of service

To Ming: He lies about alliances, Get em Ming!!!
To Spider: Ming seems to think you're not good enough for an alliance I see, you gonna take that?!
To Merc: just keep your head down and they might forget we exist... when the dust settles they're fair game, got it?

Hmmm... with talk like that, maybe Spider and I should become better friends. We could always remove the vermin from the planet, and then fight it out ourselves

Oh... yeah... it was very informal. Did I forget to tell you about it? No matter, I cancelled it a couple of turns later. You see, the sirens' song of the seven seas was calling me - no time for those silly alliances of yesteryear.

By looking at the response in the setting up IP threads, it does look like we are all around. But as I said there, I have to pick up my daughter and probably can's start until about 6:30 central time.
Let's see who all shows, and make a call then.

Well the game was cut short, although there is no doubt who the two super powers are. Even with our heads stuck further underground than a scared ostrich, we could hear the murmurs of other civs as the posturing continued. Alas a flat tire made the night end early but these things are out of our realm
Hope everything turned out alright and we shall see everyone on Friday or Saturday i would imagine, whether we continue this one that night or not.

And we did manage to get around 3 more hours in.
Hope to continue it again in the future.

Cheers to another successful continue. This session was much quieter than usual but we progressed quite a ways...
Though I'm not sure how far it's progressed, my Swiss Isle has effectively been isolated from the outside world by the ruthless spider buckaneers. My people yearn for outside contact, when will the nukes be visiting

Yeah, it was kind of quiet. While I'm still "Science R Us", many of my cities now have the steal science flag up... so you are going to have to find my other cities if you want to keep getting sciences

don't even waste your time looking for tech in my neck of the woods, i swear its a neck to and not a full body. My backwards nation is on the brink of a total revolution, i hope they aren't looking to replace the leader
