I probably will, but most likely not till after Christmas. Funds are low right now, and the $50.00 or so the game will cost would be a significant part of our Christmas money.

Well as the official date got moved up I should have a copy in my hands tomorrow.I am very much a civ newbie having never played anything but civ2 gold and even that was not until last October. So CTP2 should be interesting to learn, never even looked at CTP1 so its all new.I hope I can give people a civ2 players view of the new game, if nothing else at least a beginners view of it. Of course my ultimate goal is to beat AH and the old school civ2 players

I too would be interested in a review or two from "trusted" sources. I had been thinking of getting one out of the North American ctp guys (who I imagine will probably snap ctp2 up) but how smart could they be? They bought ctp1...

Well I just posted this in the CTP2 forum, but one of the best things about civ2 is while you play you can still see your systray and ICQ, so you can chat while you play. CTP2 doesn't allow this I am bumming. Game is going good so far, but I had to quit the game to post this, and that kind of sucks. The movement is a bit awkward to compared to civ2. Units are similar, and better graphics than civ2,but Mindseye's HiRes graphics for civ2 are better than CTP2. Ok back to my game for now. Oh and it doesn't seem I can customize city names or Nationalities, that would suck, but I will keep trying.

Yeah it was one of those screwy Diplo numbers and although you were high in PG, my evil vampire whores were a violent bunch and ready to crush you . I just like to rib AH about civ, I have never played him and I imagine he sucks.
Well guys here is an easy take on CTP2; I have had it all night and have not much interest in playing. I feel it will never be a classic game, and honestly it simply doesn't compare to civ 2. I really can't say why, maybe its just too different or it plays too slow.I just know for me it doesn't have the excitement level of civ2 or Panzer General. I will keep at it and see if it grows on me, who knows maybe I will learn to love it. My initial advice for the diehard civ2 player is don't spend $50, well unless you wanna buy mine from me

Forgot to say I have found now you can customize city names with a right click, but still no way to name my Vampire Whores civ.

Now Vlad, don't get me wrong about AH. He's a great military strategist; he just doesn't go for the civ trickery of ICS and WLTPD to get high pg..... anyway, I thought it was vampires that sucked
I remember you now! You were the only other reliable player in that game. Let's catch up sometime...

Vlad, maybe you can sooner customise you a new "VW" unit and then all will know who you are even if your civ is called something mun..."DANE"
or you picked up the game "SCOT"...free
or you joined "US"...in..."A"...game hehe
I would want to not only name my Civ Folk, but be able to have my own list of City names saved into that Civ so each time one was founded it would automatically name is what I wanted. But then maybe I am too picky!!

It seems MarkG is censoring the CTP2 forums fairly strictly so don't hold your breath wating for the "it sucks" thread, a couple already been deleted.

Well guys I am going to give it a good playing this whole weekend then I will post the "it sucks thread" if it does. It is growing on me a little, but still not the way civ2 did. I mean I can sleep and not have strategy dreams like I had when I first played civ 2.If someone wanted to buy it though I would sell it instantly, but then again all the warez sites have it now too. Someone in the CTP2 forum said you can name each army, that might add something kewl, so again I will not post until monday!!! Also I will try it in MP mode.
