Best console and/or PC RPG of all time
I havent got the greatest CRPG expirience yet, but one of my favorites would definitley would be Fallout 2, runner up would be Baldurs Gate.
Consolewise, the best RPG would be Final Fantasy 3(FF6 in Japan) because back 5 yrs. ago as a beginner in RPGs, FF3 was like Heaven, great graphics, superb sound and musical score , the story and plot were groundbreaking! FF3 wasnt the first RPG I played though. Runners up would be Secret of Mana(my first) and FF7

I really don't remember the #, but the FF game with the job system of magic. Great everything for the time that it came out.
oh, and also Phantasy Star IV, although that one didn't have as much story.. (what that WASN'T the big boss? x20)
great spells, and the side jobs were very cool

I still remember the first Final Fantasy for the NES.At the time,it was a whole new type of game for me.Probably look like crap now.I know Ocarina of Time looks bad(I hate those cutsy animations)I was very surprised how it makes you feel like you're in a movie.Tons of good "role-playing" elements.I know,I know "Get yourself a real rpg!",but you can't beat the N64 controller.

Well, I always loved Zelda for the NES when I was a kid (it was the only reason I ever did my piano practice: mum wouldn't let us play on the nintendo until after we'd done it, so it was always done as SOON as I got home).
And yesterday I got Darkstone in the mail, completely unexpected. And it rocks! The quest sort of thing reminds me A LOT of Zelda, but the graphics are spectacular, the fact you've got a sidekick makes it seem much more friendly (and the people in towns talk to you), and just radiates fun. I'd never even heard of it before it arrived, but man... I should play RPGs more often.
