What about the sims?
And also Ron Gilberts's RPG adventure (Can't remember the name) ? I can't wait for this one... loved Monkey island I and Monkey island 2. Looks like he is going to redefine another genre.

Monkey: What do you think about the 3. MI game (The curse of MI?)? My favourite is part 2, I didn't like the 3. part that much, but it was OK. And I didn't like - gee, what was the name with all these skeletons? It was ... um ...
I played MI 1&2 with my wife, the only time she played a computer game - except minesweeper! We had a lot of fun ...

Hi KarstenWilli,
What did I think of CMI? I thought it was quite good although it was a little short (like all adventures). However I don't think I enjoyed it as much as I did Monkey Island 2. I think the problem was because it felt different. CMI had a new interface and a new graphics system. I thought Guybrush was just a little wee bit too tall... I always pictured him as more of a squirt in the first two monkey islands. Murray the talking skull was pretty funny throughout the game, the ending tied up the knots in the first two monkey island games pretty well and the voice acting was done fairly good. Overall CMI lives up to the Monkey Island name even though Ron Gilbert had nothing to do with it.

I agree, it was a very good game, but I think the reason I preferd MI1/2 are[*]The pirate plot was a little boring the 3.rd time. Some jokes were repeated.[*]There was too much talking[*]The puzzles in Pt.1/2 were more "logical".
I have to say that the german translation was brilliant!
I think a very good MI style game was "Day of the Tentacle 2". I loved it. The idea with three different, but corresponing ages was brilliant. "You have to think 4 dimensional".
Sam'n'Max was very funny, but too hard to play and sometimes the puzzles were too weird.
I played the Kyrandia games and Simon the sorcerer too, but the MIs were much better!
Grim Fandango, now I remember the name!

I dont think you could really have a Monkey Island game without the pirates . I thought LeChuck got a little bit boring in the third part, he was at his best in Monkey Island 2. Let's hope for Monkey Island 4's sake they introduce a new big baddie (if they ever decide to make one). I also don't think the three headed monkey made an appearance in CMI or MI2. They better put that beast in the game next time.
I also thought Day of the tentacle was an awesome adventure. I also loved the time shifts puzzles you had to solve. Sam and Max on the other hand was just a load of rubbish IMO. It felt like a sierra adventure game and some of their jokes weren't exactly funny at all. I remember a UK magazine, PC Format giving it a higher score than Day of the tentacle.
I havent tried any of the Kyrandia or Simon games yet and *gasp* I havent played Grim Fandango yet. Just have to wait till I find a cheap copy...

I didn't finish Grim Fandango, it crashed. In the german version Manny Calavera, the main character, had the voice of "ALF". The graphics were OK, the plot is quite funny, but it was a little too slow at my P/233. But it may be a bargain ...
