Jeff Wayne's - The War of the Worlds

Has anyone ever played this game? (other than me)
It's a few years old and is not widely known.
The graphics are excellent, the game is like WarCraft and the soundtrack is awesome.
It's a very obsessive and challenging game.
I don't know why this game never became a bestseller.

When I heard about it a couple of years ago, I wanted it. I read a few reviews and it went off my want list. From what you say, I might get it if I ever see it in a bargain bin.

I am playing it right now, its as good as any RTS game but with two opposing sides that are completely different unlike many C&C clones out there (and C&C come to think of it). Great theme great music, although the interface is a bit frustrating at times. The reviewers killed it with bad press, I only bought it because a friend said it was excellent.
