My personal opinion:
The idea was great but the implementation could be vastly improved.
First, it is extremely hard. Just a little bit of bad luck and embrace yourself for a catastrophic failure which renders your space program almost useless!
They say the computer does not cheat. Hard to believe.
Have you reached the moon before 1969?
