Well.I don't wanna say too much but I guess it wouldn't be anything that someone couldn't look up in ECO or MCO.
I ain't no IM but I think c6xd6 loses a tempo.White should play 4.N(f)x e5 and followup with Bc4 and Qf3.White would have pretty good iniative. Not a win but might be seen as +/-
IMHO.

Don't know if O-O is standard notation for you. We call it a short "rockad".
The King goes from e1 to g1 and the Rock from h1 to f1 in a single move. How do you denote that move using your notation?
O-O-O is used for a "rockad" to the other side, the long one.

I had heard of Modern Chess Openings but never as MCO. It does make sense though to refer to it that way.
And O-O is what I'm used to when castling. And O-O-O to the Queen's side. Did you all hear of the suggestion a few years back to allow the Queen to castle? Talk about a major change to the game.
BTW. I have my new monitor at home now so I might be more timely with some of my moves.

Busted!! All seriousness aside, I had forgotten to take out your signature. BTW. I've also noticed that you are noting which piece is moving when you make your move, i.e., "B"c1-g5. I'll start doing that, too. Again, I'm not used to this notation so if that's standard, please forgive me. And I suppose I could "edit" my past moves to show the pieces being moved.

If you mean highways as in information highways, then yes. Not your standard 56 K modem if you know what I mean...
About the notation. Using the short version you're supposed to write down the piece as well, like 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 etc. Else you can't tell if it's the knight or the pawn that moves to f3 (c6).
With the long version we're using I guess it doesn't matter, but I'm not sure on standard procedure. As long as you don't confuse me (I'm excluding your moves here ), the way you write now is fine.
Edited: Night is spelled knight!

Actually, I was referring to the blacktop county highway just south of Pea Ridge.

I think I'm getting the hang of it now. I went back and edited my previous moves to show the pieces. Although I did note that in some cases, mostly pawn moves, you did not show the piece.
BTW. I love your current rank in Apolyton. Every time I see your name, I think you're the King of Sweden. And one last thing. From the way the game is progressing, it appears as if you read the same book on chess that I did. I forget the title but the author was Fred Reinfeld. The best section was one entitled "The Nine Bad Moves of Chess".

IMVHO, this is an excellent game on both sides! Forget what I said about playing for a house payment. You are one good player! Seriously. I'm starting to sweat bullets. Truly.
Also, I'm curious. What time is it there right now? It's 8:00 AM here.

I know what you're aiming at. Unfortunately it's not in the middle of the night over here right now.
The reason I don't post more frequently is that I'm submitting a paper to a conference, dead line is September 1...
My time is 6 hours ahead of Apolyton time = GMT + 1 hour = Central European Time (CET). Just add those 6 hours to the time in my posts.
Right now it's 17.50.

Thanks, I think the current tempo should be ok. If I don't reply though, then you know why (a giant error in the paper)!
