The Chump vs The Champ
The Champ-Carolus Rex-a proven champion.A brilliant tactician of immense talent.A crafty seasoned veteran of world class chess..well..its a stretch but..

The Chump-Smash-inexperienced,uneducated also ran.Just finished carving the last pawn from bars of soap so he'd have a chess set to play with.He still calls rooks castles and likes the horsey piece best.

GAME ON.

Argh!!!

I hate 1. c4...

You have a great psychological advantage already!

kcbob, how's Smash's first post for a Sandbagger? He takes the concept to a higher dimension, doesn't he?

For the sake of someone whose immense age prevents him from mastering the inticacies of algebraic notation ...
Am I correct in thinking that we are so far at:

1) P-QB4 Kt-KB4

or have I gone wrong already?

I think you've got it. But then again, I thought I had it in the last game. And then again again, which piece is the Kite? Oh, wait, you mean Night. Or was that Nite?

BTW, Carolus, I posted in our game's thread a final post to the effect of 'Now you take black!' See where it gets you? c2-c4???? AARRGGHH!!

Hey, my local kibitzer just pointed out that on the board I was using at work to follow our game, I was playing white/red, not white/black. That must have been the problem, right?

And, yes, the Sandbagger definition will need to be modified. That was laid on pretty thick. "Horsey"??

BTW, SG. Congrats! 1001 posts! And has anyone noticed the international flavor of this endeavor? Sweden, UK, Canada, and the US?

Yes.

On second thoughts, no.

But I have to pause the game until next week, is that ok with you?

I'm leaving town Wednesday, have to prepare some stuff for the trip and I won't be back until Monday.

Is this acceptable?

A sandbagger is one who deceives you about his true nature or intent so that he can take advantage of you.

Methinks CR is going on a trip to meet with someone whose last name starts with K.

Actually,a sandbagger is one who deceives you about their true skill level.Like a scratch golfer that enters a tournament with a 10 handicap.

Or a Mexican chess player that puts the knights and bishops on the wrong square, then blows you off the board with a 13 move combination. After goading you into a wager of course.

Not that I would know anything about that.

Hurm. Your algebric notation seems screwed up. I thought it would be like:

1. b4-c4

Then black resigns

Resign??? Never! "We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the land grounds, we shall fight in the hills and in every street. We shall never surrender!"

Or something like that!

Speaking of sandbaggers, I'm back! Sorry for the lack of presence and news on my whereabouts.

Oh yeah, the move! Getting right to it!

Thanks! BTW, what does the first sentence above mean? Have you recently been to Israel, or?

???? Kibitzing??? I suppose I could have spelled it wrong. To kibitz means to stand to the side and offer both wanted and unwanted advice, both good and bad. Not that I would ever do that.

Editing note: I just checked "kibitz" with my Word spellcheck and it appears to be correct. Give enough monkeys...

No, I didn't think you'd spelled it wrong or anything. Just didn't know what it meant and picked something sounding similar... Me King of Sweden, remember?
