Hey, what's the deal? I thought we were on track for a nice Queen's gambit and lo and behold, we get some wacko four Knight's game!

Wacko indeed!
I know that 1. c4 can lead to the English opening, but I think I deviated from it immediately?
Smash, does this opening have a name?

What's the Bremen system?
Do you use the "reply with quote"-feature? I'm asking because when I use it the moves are spread all over the place and I have to edit it.
Not sure I like my last move. Had a different plan in mind, but it involved moving one of the horsies a second time. This early it didn't feel good either...

I used it and it seemed to work for me.

I don't know that I would ever feel bad about castling early. [whisper as golf commentator] Here's betting that Smash follows suit shortly. [/whisper]
(Sorry if that was too blatant on the kibitzing. I had my tongue as far into my cheek as I could put it.)

Nope.Don't know how
I copy and paste. It looks screwed up(first move is ok but the others are way over to the right) but comes out ok after "submit"
Carls' or Bremen system is 3.g3.An accelerated fianchetto. It is less commital.
So far the game is all book.I get the feeling you like open positions so I try to keep it closed.

Bingo, you're right on the money! This isn't a chess position, it's a straight jacket for God's sake!

I feel like the kid in Jumanji who was sent to get the axe. I looked at your comment above and thought "Well, I'll just help him out and instruct him in the procedure." Then I saw your quote above this one.
I'll try to cut back on the kibitzing from this point on. That one move pretty obvious, though, even to a winless player like moi.

I don't think that's in any book, is it?
Regarding your protest, Smash... As they say in American TV series, OVERRULED!
BTW, have to admit I didn't catch the "reply with quote"-joke until kcbob pointed it out. I also "failed" to see the quote...

I don't know if Na4 should get a !,!?,?!,? or a ??.Didn't take long for the game to get nice and complicated.

Hi,
Have you guys ever played chess over at It's Your Turn? If not, you should check it out, it's pretty cool.
When both players are online you can play a fairly quick game, but since the games are stored at the site you can also play as infrequently as you choose as well. And since ALL games are stored in standard notation you can import ANY game into Chessmaster or other chess program for analysis.

Shortly after Carolus and I started our [cough]game[/cough], the guy I sit by at work started a game from this site with me. It was a pretty cool site.
Hey! That's it! I was distracted. Ya think?
