This might be a good time to start lining up the next challenger. While I would love to take my place at the front of the queue, I would be more than willing to defer to any newcomers who would like a piece of this action.
Anyone? Anyone? Anyone? Battle of Hastings? Anyone?
And if no one steps up to the plate, I would love a rematch or new challenge. All I ask is that this time I get to be "shirts".

If I'm not mistaken, this was the question Ben Stein was asking as the teacher in Ferris Beuller's Day Off. It is spoken in the most dull, monotone, droning voice you can possibly muster.
And welcome to the Apolyton Chess Club, Julius. Be forewarned, though. To do battle in this arena, you must be fully armed with a huge ensemble of weapons... humility, chicanery, deception, swamp land salesmanship, sandbagging expertise... oh yeah, and a knowledge of how to move "horsey" piece. If you need help with that, either of the two current players can help you there. I think.

Yeah, right. Sure you did. But you did miss an opportunity. If you're going to make three moves in a row, the least you could have done was make three different moves. Might have helped.

Don't worry kcbob, I feel like I am ready. What is an "horsey", though. I am too lazy to look in the dictionnary. I didn't know this Stein and this mov(i)e (only Gertrude Stein). But, I am an history teacher (nobody's perfect).
I propose we start our own game. As it is now clock game, I could eventually take the winner of Carausonnarus Rex vs the Smasher, while going on with this one.
I let you have white, but so it's up to you to start the new thread. Let's hope some people will be kibbitzing us. What about putting an advetisement in some other sections of the forum ?

btw-the gigamap is very good.I'm finding AIs that start in North America or Russia do much better than normal.Let them have the Pyramids and Great Library and you almost have a challenging game.

I'm not totally opposed to starting up a game with you. But I think one game at a time for a player is a nice load. Besides, I think the current game might be over in a few days.
Now, on the off chance that I beat you (or should I say "fat chance" ), you'd be playing the winner while having one loss. That would prevent you from being able to claim the title of "Undefeated" champion. Of course, should I win (there's that fat chance again), I guess that would be a moot point.
Tell you what. If the current reigning champion, Carolus Rex, and the ahead-by-his-own-admission challenger, Smash, agree with it, I'll be happy to crush you. *note the false sense of superiority*
Then again, if you beat me, I'll have to go back to playing my sister.
