So you didn't get rid of the bishop straight away!
It was a tough choice ... I was a little bit afraid of 16 exf4. Maybe you saw further than I did. We shall see ...
This game is full of surprises : I was expecting 14 e5 and then it's 15 e5, when I was thinking of 15 Qc5 ! (the reason I played 15 Rd2 instead of 15 Bd3).
I had forgotten how complicated the king of the games could be !!! The more you think, the less you understand.

well this position is resignable now but if I play 16.....PxB then I see 17.Re1+..Kd8 18.BxN and thats all she wrote. If I chop queens I'm done also.My main goal after my horrendous opening was to make move 20.After that hang on and hope to get "lucky"
The worst part is,depending on interest levels,it may be months before a rematch.

Well, at least you'll get rid of one bishop now. This position would deserve a diagram, but I don't know how to do it.
I find you very pessimistic. I agree that white is better, but as for now you have no static disadvantage and material is equal. Maybe you can survive.
17 ... exf4, 18 Re1+ and 18 Ne3 would have "only" given up a pawn. Maybe it was best that way.
For the rematch, well it seems that Ken Hinds is in, and, but I'm not sure, Silver Dragon too.
Another way, as we are taken back by the virus of chess would be to organize a tournament.

I didn't spend much time looking at that line because of 19.PxN PxP 20.RxP+ Kd1 21.Qe7+.Did I need to look a little more?

Mmm...this is the sort of position I used to like as White, sort of sets the combination bells ringing. A decisive attack looming I'd say.
My tactical nature is showing of course quite overshaddowing my lesser positional sense.

Smash: The main message was I like the positions on the verge on some combination.
BTW have you had much success with the Caro-Kahn? I prefer the Sicilian despite it's two-edge riskiness.

Yes I have had decent results with the Caro-Kann.It is very solid.Although not when played as I have in this game. The more I look, the less I know WTF I was doing.hehehe.
In bygone tournament days I would play Caro-Kann and Semi-Slav with black every game if allowed.
I play the Sicilian also.In fact I have a very good position against a Leonhardt-Sozin Attack over at Civ Fanatics site right now.But I found players were booked up the ying yang on the Sicilian and not so much on Caro-Kann.It wasn't "fashionable"
I've played pretty much everything at one time or another against e4.Closed is what I prefer.I have even played Alekhine's Defense in tournaments.

Civ Fanatics board games forum is here.Yes they have a board games forum.Heck, they even have a html test forum. They also seem to have solved the "password being shown while logging into private messages" problem.

I'm more than content to wait for new challengers to take their turn in the barrel.
BTW, Smash, you missed a golden opportunity. When you posted the diagram, you should have slipped in an extra black queen.

Well, isn’t all this talk about the next challenger a clever ploy to throw me off balance ? (yes, paranoia is a chess skill !). Smash ain’t dead yet We’re past move 20 and material is still equal. I would be lying if I’d pretend I’m not thinking I can win this game, but there are yet many moves to be played.

Smash,
What I had said was that I could see that I would have to get in line. I haven't been on the site much lately and have no idea where I am in the line. I certainly don't want to cut in front of anyone. I still haven't solved my problem with the new notation system yet and have to coversions to the old system for every move, but I'll get over it.

I have no idea who is "in line" at this point.
Notation is not a major problem.I'm sure most players are completely fluent in descriptive notation.Algebraic is just a preferred system(by myself anyway).

Ken, you're either next or second in the line.
I don't know if this single quote of Silverdragon means he wants to step up. Silverdragon are you willing to fight in this bloody arena (not a single draw yet !) ?
Otherwise, Ken, it's up to you after this game. I invite you, as I'm not pretentious enough yet to quote myself, to see my proposition of rules for the world championship. It's in the 1st page of this thread.
No one has given any opinion on my proposition to make it a closed tournament ...

I see no major problems with your proposals.I do see a champ(someone will win 2 in row) playing nothing but black.Perhaps some challenger organization is in order.
Interim list
1.kcbob(may pass)
