Recently I have started up playing this game again and discovered a cool trick.
Usually, when two stacks are adjacent, attacking one stack will draw the other one into its defense. One day, I was looking at the map, and there was this one hex town I want to capture. It was defended by a stack inside the town and a stack sitting outside. The town itself had wooden walls. I would like to attack the city without the walls in the way, so I decided to attack the stack outside the town to see if that would draw the stack inside the town out.
It worked like a charm. After I defeated both stacks on open ground, I just walked into the town the next turn without opposition.
