David versus Goliat...
The champ: Julius Brenzaida
The challenger: Carolus Rex
Who is David and who is Goliat is left as an exercise to the reader's fantasy.
Thanks for the advice about putting pieces in the right squares, Julius. However, you need not worry. I have grown up with this notation, it is the anglo-saxian notation that is incomprehensible to me. Hence the following statement:
"I, Carolus Rex, do hereby solemny declare that any bad moves in the upcoming game with Julius Brenzaida are completely and utterly the result of bad judgement and lack of chess skill. They will have nothing whatsoever to do with misreading notation!"
If anyone of you still are not satisfied with this and insist on blaming my bad moves on notation controversies, then I pick the 5th amandment!
I also pick white.
Prepare to do battle.
"En garde!"
Carolus

Certainly!
BTW, this game will not progress as fast as the previous one. I have a tight schedule right now and my free time goes to my number one addiction... Civ MP!
It may even take two or three days for a move, just so you know.

Instead you choose the French Defense against un francais! Oui, c'est vrai. Je suis né en France!
(Yes, I know about the cedille that goes with the c in francais. I just don't know how to type it with my keyboard.)

I was born in Grenoble, but moved to Sweden when I was two years old (my parents separated and, later, got divorced). From the age of five I used to visit my father every summer and sometimes in the winter too.
At first I flew from Copenhagen to Geneva, where my father picked me up. Years later the route changed to Copenhagen-Lyon (Satolas, I think the name of the airport was).
Nowdays I'm afraid of flying and have to go by train, which means I get the opportunity to travel through your beautiful country.

No problemo. If you need to remain silent for more than 2 days, you should just say it before it happens. This not precisely a game of speed.

Grenoble is a nice city next to the mountains. I live near Geneva. Lyon's airport is indeed called Satolas, and Geneva's one is Cointrin. I've never been to Scandinavia, though, unless you think that Iceland is a part of it.

Yes, it is. I like it very much; the architecture, the atmosphere, the cafés, the surrounding mountains. A strange thing (at least when you're in the city) is that it is (approximately) located at sea level height! Hard to believe when the mountains are such a significant part of the city view...

Sweden, Denmark and Norway are together called Scandinavia. Add Finland and Iceland and you get the nordic countries.
Have to go now, off to a duel with DaveV. I will try to make a move later tonight, but then the next one is probably not made until Monday. The same goes if I don't sneak in a move later tonight (i.e. Monday is next)

ALT + 0231 produces the Cedille, it's one of the few combinations I've bothered to memorise. The others include ALT + 0228 (ä), 0229 (å), 0246 (ö), 0153 (™), and of course 0252 (ü). It's so much easier on my home keyboard...
