WOW!
I guess patience really IS a virtue! Buying Civ I, Civ II, SMAC, SMAX, ToT and MGE (I won't include the CtP games) I've spent well over $200 on Civ games!

I ALWAYS wait for cheap prices. I bought civ1 in a double pack with colonization for 10$ (and spent another 10$ at the same time for Master of Orion and Xcom), civ2 for 12.99, FW for 4.99, and test of time for christmas this last year for 7.88.
let's see, all told that's about 36$ (US) for all my civ playing.
I wonder If I will have the strength to wait for civ3?
and yes, I, too will buy CTP if it gets down to 10$

I just got SMAC for $15 and a cool game called Flying Heroes for $2 (you ride around on flying reptiles, giant birds, zepplins or flying carpets--depending on your team--and try to blast the people on the other teams). Oh yeah, and Everquest for $10.

HAH!
I just got the Conflicts in Civilization scenario set for 1.99
I also got Dune2000 for 4.99 at the same time.
and people wonder why I don't pick up EU (of the numerous threads) for 45$.
hmmnn..
I love the bargain bin.
I also know if it's any good by then. I know to ignore all those copies of eXtreme Paintbrawl for 9.00.

I've gotten most of my games from the bins...
CompUSA (at least all of the stores near me) has gotten rid of bins.
In doing so, they have sacrificed most, if not all, of the business (including non-bin) they would have had from me.
(Yeah, as if that meant anything to them... )

We should start a boycott of Comp USA.
Their prices are always inflated. I've never ever observed a COMP USA game software price that was competitive. At best it was equal, but nearly always it was higher.
Last I checked, they were still selling Dune 2000 for $29.99, when you can easily get it elsewhere for 5-10 bucks.
I bought Heroes of Might & Magic III (Shadow of Death expansion) at Comp USA... it was my last purchase there. I had to negotiate with the manager to take $10 bucks off the price because I knew I saw it for $10 off elsewhere. The manager believed me and gave me the discount... but my point is; Why should we have to negotiate?!
Comp USA? It should be called COMP-U-SUCKER!!
Edit: Don't buy their hardware either. It's an equal rip-off. (more like robbing you blind). You can get stuff at computer shows for a song.

Oh wow, that was one of my better purchases. One of the features of the game is that, whenever you log into the website, it automatically loads any patches since the last time you logged in.
Today I decided it would be a good time to start playing. I logged in to set up an account and start my 30 free days running. Patches started loading...and loading...and loading. Everquest is two years old. It took six hours to get through all the patches!
So of course, one I got through that and finally entered the game, I had some kind of weird video problem so I couldn't see anything. (Later: This second problem has been solved. I had "materialized" in the middle of the night and facing a stone wall. That explains why everything was pitch black and I couldn't move.)

Civilization: Call to power has made it to the cheap rack (sort of) at 19.99. I'm debating as to whether to go for it or not....

I got Fantastic Worlds, Myth II, Unreal Gold, and Hidden and Dangerous for $9.99 each. Yeah so I can't even play HD because of some hideous bug, but it was only $9.99.

Yeah, CtP has made it to the bargain bin here for £9.99. I haven't actually bought a computer game for ages but I am encouraged to see that Imperium Galactica 2 is getting there. I wanted that game when it came out but never quite got around to it...

Thought that I'd let you know Provost,- I noticed yesterday that CTP (1) is number one in the UK HMV PC charts, and the reason?- It is for sale there at the price of £4.99!!
So now you can choose, for around the same price, whether to buy this months computer games mag or CTP.
