Grrrrr!!! It was as I feared, I have the suspicion that maybe this threesome is one and the same player. Celtic Lair took a big chunk of my empire.
But we did what we do best and started exploring and rebuilding, and netted over 200 places all the same. The military is looking good, all those boots are shining bright. If only we could teach them how to fight ....
I have asked #6802 Cloudy Temple to become an offensive ally. They are communists, so they should have a good-sized army.

Basically a clan's advantage isn't all that great... it's just a group of people who have banded together to become the biggest group. Essentially you end up having alliances with part of the clan in a format to allow maximum protection for the clan. You also then can profit from the actions of other clan members by following the news updates and seeing the week nations thus increasing your chance at landgrabbing. It seems like an evil cohort, but it's basically the same concept as increasing your ties with nations without a formal agreement (treaty, alliance). You only get a benefit if you maintain a watch on your clan members. The clan is APOLYTON and the pass is OmniGod

Well, I got missile #6

Land grabbing was good for the both of us against Dontkillme , I got another 300 of their acres. It is also interesting to see how the game works: successive attacks cost more casualties on the attacker's side.
I spied on them and they still have a sizable army. I also saw that they never did any research. Am I the only one on that path?

So next time we'll do some research and then look for another victim ...
Hopefully, my offensive allies won't cripple my military in the meantime

Whenever I try to logon to Earth 2025 or Utopia I get a "Wrong password" message, apparently because all my cookies have been deleted. What I don't understand is why I was able to access my accounts from school if the cookies are so important... I guess I'll be going to the local library before work tommorrow to get on. Maybe I'll take out a nice book. Maybe I'll get a library card.

I was just attacked by someone who has only jets and turrets, and yet took 500 of my acres in one attack. Is that normal????
It doesn't seem very realistic to me. If this is possible, it's a major flaw in the game IMHO . How can jets take land??
Do I get his land without resistance if I attack with troops and tanks of which he has none?

The military complex saves big cash on military costs... that is the upkeep costs... but if you're rolling in it then don't worry about it... Things just aren't going too good for me lately, thank goodness this all starts anew soon... at least I can count a victory in the A1 game with a networth of 1.2million....

BTW is anyone playing a Tournanment game as well? I've almost broke 200 on 8X.

And yes, Jets can take land. It's great because you can launch a Planned Strike against them with only jets and then you don't even need to worry about weaker defense while they rest. Fortunately if they have no tanks or troops you can GS or AB them into the ground. In TEQ air units (fighters and bombers) can't take land though. Plus you need fighters to protect your bombers in attacks, which is a neat realistic element. There's a lot of silly elements too, like why they call all tanks Panzers, all troops Marines, and special forces (spies) SEALS.

But we should also discuss tactics & strategy - when to strike, who builds what, picking targets etc.

In standard "A" my li'l county Castle Gobs is presently consolidating at 2000+ acres, building up troops and tech before we will expand again. From what I've seen in "B" so far, it's pretty easy to overextend.
Sometimes a big landgrab will only attract attention and if you don't have the means to back up your bravery, it's one step forward, two steps back.

Alamos is no more . Some top player decided to declare war on us, most likely he got my country number from that Swede guy who had already sent me hate-mail. So I simply destroyed all my remaining buidings and land. OmniGod, I sent you the maximum foreign aid that was allowed.

So, a question! Does it often go like this, despite instructions from above of what is morally acceptable? If the answer is yes, I won't play again!

I'm suspecting your love for the game is cooling down rapidly.

I ended at the 101 spot today, just short of the top 100 goal I set for myself. I made two landgrabs for 700 acres and I sold goods worth $135 million. (I had some backlog left to sell)

Things are looking good, the oil price firmed again, while the food price is stable while prices for tech points (on which I spend much lots of money) are falling.
