Thief
I play THIEF 2 - The Metal Age since a few days, and I've also playd the demo of THIEF - The Dark Project.
It's a game where you take the part of a...thief. You have to break into houses and steal the riches of wealthy people. But you're not a stupid burglar. You have also to break into HUGE complex buildings, hiding in dark corners and stealing important plans...And you nearly must not kill anyone.
Well, I have to say this new form of 3D-Game is really Great!! It's not too hard and not too easy.
There are 3 difficulty levels:
NORMAL
HARD
EXPERT
Isn't this funny? No EASY or even BEGINNER. Also no IMPOSSIBLE although I'd really like to play a game even harder than EXPERT is.
In fact one gets used to the game and it's difficulties and dangers that soon, that even the highest difficulty level isn't too hard.
The most interesting thing is: the higher the difficulty level is, the less enemies may be killed by you.
Is there anyone outside also playing it?

Fist Thief 2 is a great game. And follows nicely on footsteps of Thief: the dark project. It's made by Looking Glass Studios (they also made System Shock 1 & 2, as well as the Ultima Underworld). It should be available practically every where.
I just saw on Gamespy that they are going out of Business . Which needless to say sucks. Im not sure if it's an homage to making original games or just not spending enough on marketing. Of course advertising was Eidos's responsibility.
Oh well it just makes me sad.

Haven't got T2 yet - but have played Thief - found it the most atmospheric game I have ever encountered - also damn hard! and a bit too hand-eye coordination for me at my advanced age - such is life!

With the age of 52 (is this right?) I think you aren't too old even for Thief2

Like Thief? Don't know what a taffer is? Come to `Through the Looking Glass' at www.ttlg.com!
It's a huge site all about the various games made by and inspired by Looking Glass studios. The forums actually have over eleven thousand registered members (more than Apolyton)!
Looking Glass studios did go under, but the rights to make Thief III have been picked up by ISA (the folks who made Deus Ex), and they've got lots of the staff from Looking Glass helping them. Y'all can lynch me if ya want, but I'm just as excited about T3 as I am about Civ3!
