aaah it be easy and im just a truck driver
press start/programs/windows explorer
this will view the files in the drive
on the left hand side there is a list of directories
near the bottem is a directory called windows
open this directory by double clicking on it
on the right there will be a list of all the directories and files in this directory
you will look for a file called Civ.ini
if your files do not show the extention eg .ini then you should change it by clicking View on the top tool bar
then click options when the window opens
click show all files
check box Display the full MS-DOS path in the title bar
uncheck box hide MS-DOS file extentions for file typs that are regestered
check the box Include description barfor right and left panes
then click apply at the bottem
the window will close and you should see the file extentions
open the Civ.ini file by double clicking on it
at the bottem of the file add "Simultaneous=1"
(without the quotes)
then save the file by pressing file and Save on the top of the window
then close the window
then you will be back at the explorer window if you wish to keep the setting then you should stop it from being over written by
single click the file Civ.ini
then pressing file on the top tool bar then properties
when the window opens put a check in the box read only
It only looks like a lot - that is becouse i tryed to cover it all - and im wordy

Yes Clay, you are a wordy truckie
Maybe it comes from loneliness...
And your spelling is going to cause HUGE problems unless we fix it here and now!
*at the bottem of the file add "Simultaneos=1"*
It's bottom, not bottem
ahhh, and it's Simultaneous
I may be fat-assed but at least I can smell

Keep in mind that all this is irrelevant unless you host games yourself...

Are you using a Mac?
OR, Is the file called just "civ" - the .ini extension may be hidden...

The hidden extension wouldn't matter. The "Fix" is only valid for Civ 2 MGE and Civ 2 TOT not plain Civ 2 or Mac Civ 2. That could be the difference. But If you like I can send along my civ.ini file. And maybe that will allow you to use it.
I'll be on ICQ tonight if you want it then.
