What does the Helicopter unit represent?
I'm trying to determine the best graphic for the helicopter unit, but I'm confused. Given their considerable ability to destroy ground targets, you might assume they are attack ships. However, they are considered ground units, are capable of capturing and occupying a city, and become available with the Combined Arms advance. This sounds more like air-mobile infantry.
So, should the unit graphic be an Apache-type attack chopper, or a CH-47 - style troop carrier?

Maybe you can combine a picture of both?

Maybe you can put in a Blackhawk instead? It can act as both a gunship and a troop carrier...

A pic of a blackhawk sounds like a good idea.

An Apache helicopter or a cobra would do quite nice.

Great ideas!
I need to make this decison before I release the second version of the HiRes graphics patch. The CH47 has been my default graphic, but I have been questioning its suitability. I have already included alternate graphics for the Apache and Hind.
It think a mixed-role craft like the Hind or Blackhawk is the best answer, and both also fill the "must be cool-looking" requirement as well!
Thank you!

Perhaps like a Heuy during Vietnam? It could be both a troop carrier and a gunship right?

The Huey fits two of the three requirements: can act as a gunship, can act as a troop carrier, but doesn't make the "cool looking" grade, at least not like the Blackhawk and Hind. :-> Excellent suggestion, I'll try to include one as an alternate graphic.
Can you believe those things are STILL in active service (reserves and Guard)? Like the 747, a remarkably successful design!

If it's between the Blackhawk and the Hind, I say the Hind. It's been around longer, can carry more troops, and has greater firepower.
