CEO TigToad got out of the escape pod and watched as pods fell from all over the sky around what was being set up as the first permanant base camp of the corporation that just a few hours before was being run by the late Morgan. A real pity his sudden death when the pod set down...
Immediately, the CEO knew that hijacking those 'extra' supply pods from the Unity was going to pay off big on this new world. The sensors showed a wealth of valuable territory near the polls, however due to the way the Unity was going down we had no choice but to choose one of the three large central islands. At least these islands had a few merits of their own.
With the base camp set, and the pods and scouts out on their way, the first order of business was to gather up a few of the local unity pods that fell with our supply ships. Some interesting finds came up including {{{CLASSIFIED INFORMATION: LEVEL 3 SECURITY REQUIRED}}}. Fortunately, we were able to deal with what came up at us.
(Uh, all this basically says that the turn has been passed on to the Peacekeepers..)

It's in the hands of the Hive.
(Blunderdog's Log, MY 2100) If it's not one thing, it's another. First, I thought I had the whole Unity bathroom sharing fiasco smoothed over when somebody goes and whacks the captain. Now I land on some godforsaken island covered in some sort of sticky red fungus. I should have never worn these new white Topsiders. *Sigh* A Peacekeeper's job is never done.

The new CEO read the reports being piled on his desk. It seems since landing all I'd done is read reports as to what his units were finding in the local country-side. Some bizarre things have been popping up in the Unity pods... certainly not standard issue unity possessions, these!
Recently, the comm-system that had been set up in CEO Tig's office a couple days before with the frequencies of the Hive and Peacekeepers... just not sure when would be the best time to put in that first call.

Chairman Vader would like to report his dissatisfaction with his com procedure which forces him to manually reconnect and which imposes a fee if he goes over his time limit. But despite these hardships our socialist hoard has completed it's duties and sent our progress to be processed by the ultimate of capitalist excess and indulgence.

The one true group that understands how capitalism can truely make a government great has passed on its turn to the Peacekeepers. We are practiced in ignoring the ignorant ramblings of a corrupt socialst regime so see no need to reply to their unprofitable grumblings.

Back to the Hive. The Peacekeepers reserve comment, but have duly noted the possible source of friction.

Something i noticed when I took my last turn... my social engineering was 0's down the board (I should have +1 economy, -1 support).. would you two check to make sure yours isn't right either? Does Yang have his perimeter defences? Maybe it was just a weird fluke and it will be fixed when it comes back to me. I'll let you know..Daniel

My SE seemed right, at least my inefficiency was in place.
Another question ... is there some limitation for calling the council? The game won't let me, saying I don't have all the commlink frequencies, though it's clear that I do. Hmm...

Turn sent to Morgan.
I have my usual -2 +1 +1 SE settings and my defenses (although officially those are classified)

Well, damn.. My social Engineering is the only one screwed up then.. I double checked, I'm not getting my bonus, nor my penalty. I'm okay with playing my faction as a straight normal, book faction.. (tho if I have my base size limited to 4 without the econ bonus it would suck)..
I was under the impression that the computer factions were going to be in the game starting near the poles, but that might be wrong.

and to answer your other question, you don't actually have the human players comm frequency yet.. and you won't until you meet up with each of us. Its kinda a bug which this tournament allows that lets the human players talk to each other before they've met.

TigToad: Your problem is because of one of the scenario editor's endearing features; you have to explicitly tell it to reload the faction.txt file or that faction will not get its bonuses. I guess zsozso forgot that for this game. I just checked some other things, though: you will be limited to a base size of 4, and you still cannot run Planned economics. That makes your faction rather poor, in my opinion...
There are 3 things to do that I see:
[*]Play on anyway[*]Restart the entire scenario[*]Blunderdog (as he is last in the turn order) sends the latest save to me, and all of you send me your passwords. I can then create a new scenario which will be exactly like your current standing, except that all currently accumulated research will be lost (you will get to keep advances you have got from pods or artifacts).[/list=a]
What do you prefer?
And btw, there are no AI factions in the SMAC tournament games. The polar continents are up for grabs... In the SMACX games the Progenitor factions start there, with 7 size 3 cities each.

Turn sent to the Hive, and to Tau Ceti.
I'm willing whatever you guys want to fix the Morgan problem, though starting over sounds the most reasonable to me.

Damn.. I had such a good start, too... but I really don't want to play a faction with limit size 4 and no real advantages. I suppose we should start over, but if you want to just abandon all current research and such, thats a fine option, too.. since Tao is willing to 'fix' my faction and we can just pick up where we are at.. whichever is okay with me...

I have no problems with starting over. I suppose I have no problems with wiping out the tech either, but starting over would be the most fair.
I won't do my turn untill we get this resolved then.

Ok..Tao, I guess we're starting over. Can you re-create the game for us with my faction built correctly. Sorry about this being such a pain. My little morganites aren't overly happy about it, but what can we do.

It is no pain for me. I will restart the scenario. If Garth Vader would email me his password, he would get the same one in the new scenario too...

Ok I emailed my password. I didn't see your email address anywhere so I took it off your profile, I hope that was right.
Since we are restarting how'd everyone do with pods? I got 2 worms, 1 artifact, 1 materials pod, 1 cartography pod, 1 monolith, and the rest were resources.
Worms attacked a former and a scout and lost both times. I cashed the artifact in and got the tech for foils.
