Has anyone had this happen?

I'm playing some PBEM games, and I have no trouble with the SMAX files, but when I try to extract SMAC files to the saves folder they never show up. I've tried everything, renaming them to .sav and moving, uninstalling SMAX, yada yada, but nothing works.

Has anyone else run into this, and if so, how'd you solve it? Thanx.
