Civ world... I'm outa here
Sick of bad attitudes, bad luck, & hours wasted just trying schedule & finish games.
Was a fairly fun run.
But definately not worth hours & days of endless starts & restarts, only to have another of my seemingly endless streaks of piss-poor luck strike about the time I'm finally in a quality game that is going somewhere.

And then there are the wonderful personalities one gets to deal with...
from egomanics that think this little mental sport = the end all to our existence to...
the speed-freaks with their empty cities that have had far too much caffine & desire only to hurry up & get to somewhere (sure feel sorry for their wives & girlfriends).

I hereby concede any & all games that are still hanging around to finish for points.

Wish U all better luck than i'v had & have fun... & get a life outside of here.

Milo the Missing

BTW: if anyone needs or care... my password on every civ i've played = "4444"

Well KenThur... you will be missed. Maybe after you have chilled for awhile, the addiction will come back. If it does, find another bunch of people to play with

Take care in whatever you do!

Oh yes Milo, you will be missed, like horse crap on my breakfast! I want to thank you for proving to be the worsed Diplo sub in history of civilization. I have a word for you that I can not speak out here without getting banned from the forums, so i will give an description of that word:

Some one who can not manage to keep 30 cities happy in: 15 minutes of build time + 15 minutes of moving time (it was simultanious) gives 30 minutes to manage 30 cities. To my calculations that leaves 1 minute for every city to prevent it from revolting.

What does this mean?
To give you an idea: to move the tax rate from 0 luxeries to 100% (yes he was a democracy) would take about 3 seconds. If you are slow, 10 seconds. This still gives you 29 minutes and 55 seconds to check the attitude advisor if there are still cities revolting. Let us presume all 30 cities are still revolting at 100% luxeries. Then for every city to click on and remove 1 worker, will take me only 5 seconds. A slow person perhaps 20 seconds.

This leads to 5 seconds + 20 seconds x 30 cities = 10 minutes. IN THE WORSED POSSIBLE SCENARIO you will still have 20 minutes left. You could disband some units to make the cities happier, maybe work as an entertainer yourself and Sing out loud to your monitor. Maybe it will help?

Milo, i thank you a lot for making this wise decission to leave civilization. Please make sure to never return.

Milo.....I can understand your frustration and I will miss having you around the civ world.....we have had several good games over the last 2 years. As Ming said, maybe just take a break for a while(or wait for Civ3). Take care and if you do come back we will still be here!

I can promise you a game to finish if your up to it. I would at least like to challenge what you have said and can only hope you will give me a chance to try to prove you wrong. I know another who will join me in such a quest and have complete confidence in his/her ability to complete games. I have just recently joined the forum and would hate to see anyone go.

Let me know.

Huh? Is this ground hog day? Didn't Ken say he'd never ever play again a few months ago?

I'm so sorry that you got bad luck with barbs in our game. El_P and me both wish you could come back. That was a fun game. We even had good diplomatics in a ladder game! And you did good business with my republicans. That's the longest game I ever played I guess. Thanks for your good connection. I hope you could come back, but on the other hand, I also understand that, just like everything in this life, it will come to an end sooner or later. It will happen to every one, everything. If an end of civ game might bring you back to your true life, it's a good thing. I guess it's your time now. I'll just wait for my turn to come.

Enjoy your life, and peace.

Jeesh.

You know, this is a lesson for everyone: Before you decide to slam another player (Example: Curumbor and Ken Thur slamming me at the beginning of my thread, "A game to FINISH"), without provocation, and in public, you ought to consider the following:

1. What are the rules of the community I am posting in?
2. How big is the community I am posting in? In other words, if I slam such and such, will word get around quickly?
3. Is my word respected in the community?
4. Is the person I am about to slam respected in the community?
5. Is it possible that the person I am going to slam is going to slam me back much harder?
6. If he or she slams me back, and his or her slam is "ad hominem" (an attack on me personally), what will the repercussions be? Is my reputation enough to absorb an attack?
7. Finally, and most importantly, do I have a reason for slamming? Am I slamming out of malice? Am I simply trying to irritate? Am I just bored? If you answer yes to any of these, it is best not to slam. If you do, you look like a fool.

IF, however, you are slamming in response to a slam (the person who slams without provocation (this applicable only to public affairs; private affairs are a whole different ball game) has forfeited her or his right to respect, and thus the right not to be slammed), want to make a point to a hardheaded player, or want to help another player using "constructive criticism," slamming seems justified; id est, of course, if the moderator is not as dumb as mud.

Anyway, enough preaching: I want to apologize to Ken Thur for any harm I did to his reputation. But I will say this: you asked for it buddy!

By-the-way: Ming, did "Species8472" get warned for flamming Ken Thur WITHOUT (that i know of) provocation?

I guess not! Ming seems to decide on WHIM who he warns and bans.

I hardly call species stating of the facts flaming. Most players i know of are pissed when someone subs in and takes the game from 1 turn in 2 minutes to a turn every 30 min.
