I got the move and password for LTEC from Tau Ceti. So, if everybody is cool with it, I will pick it up in her place. Any objections?
It will probably take some time to get used to the game, so give me a bit of a leeway (though I see you landlubbers can't do much about me anyways ). What's the current diplomatic climate? Is there anything I should know that's not apparent from the game file?

I passed the turn to Tig of the Believers, despite the general lack of feedback.
Let's see if we can get this rolling again.

Well, good to see this game moving again.
With the excitement surrounding this new explosion of turn... the Believers are proud to announce the completion of the command nexus. This completely, umm, peaceful project will help us avoid, umm..drone riots, yeah thats it, in the future.
---
As for the climate of the game, I was starting to get annoyed with LTEC as our original, understanding, was that in order for the Believers to survive as a peaceful people the good researchers of the University would be fairly generous in tech. However, that never happened and I was just starting to build up a military to erraticate them from the map. Now that they old University leader has been over thrown I'm sure we can avoid blood shed as we all come together to worship God in peace.

Ouch sorry about delay all. As I said I am no longer in Michigan with my cable modem- I am currently in our house in Florida and will be for the summer (without cable modem). Losing your cable modem is like having huge portions of your brain removed- it is not fun.
Right now the peacekeepers want to remain more or less neutral in this conflict. We recommend that the University does make gifts to the Believers in order to stimulate peace.

Hummm...you seem to be fairly strong in techs yourself, TigToad. What exactly do you want and what do you have to offer in response?

What do I want? I want a token of peace and friendship of course. Donations to the church are never made with strings attached, so I will ignore the good Provost when he suggests he should profit from generosity. (Well, you get a nice tax deduction). As for what I desire, that would be your decision.. I'm not the one making the donatation. All I do know is the good members of my parish do not desire a war.

Turn sent to TigToad.
I am glad to hear that sister TigToad is so interested in lasting peace and friendship. However, since she decided to ignore part of my reply, I have decided to ignore part of hers.
To me, frienship is always a mutual thing, kept up in the interest of both sides.

The Church is above equality. If you do not wish the wrath of the church you have one year to decide.

The new Commissioner is getting to grips with the complexity of running a fledgling empire and has many internal situations to address. We are in no position either to defend ourselves, or to wage war on our neighbours. It is our sincere hope that this situation can be resolved peacefully ...

Turn to TigToad.
--
Our views towards the Church and their god differ a little from Sister TigToad's belief. However, the final decision between choosing the dark path of aggression or that of peace lies not in the University's hands, but in those who have already threatened with their wrath.

"...and God said, there will be a new land. A promised land. This land will provide for your masses and ensure an environment where God can provide spirtually for all without interferance from incorrect outside religions. It is a place where the land itself will rise up to talk to you. In one voice it will cry for you to use it, exploit it, to help further God's cause. This place will be known as Chiron and it is your duty as faithful children of the Lord to make sure no one who is not of the faithful shares this promised land."
Excerpt from the new Chiron testiment of the bible

Sister Tig, you know that we respect and honour world citizens of all denominations. But you're right, we have a soft spot for your particular variety
We also respect and admire the ground-breaking work of the University. Couldn't we all just chat about it over a beer at Camp Misotu some time?

Empath Guild completed.
Turn to TigToad.
Looking at the still puny defenses of the Believers, Sis TigToads desperate attempts to punch out masses of Impact rovers, while trying desperately to catch up in the tech race by acquiring a newer weapon technology way too late, which will render her already belated prototyping hopelessly backward, the University only laughs at the desperation of the Believers.
Let God's army come. Let them see that science and technology is the new god upon Chiron. Because Jahwe is dead!

The 'empath' is simply the proof that you have defiled God and his image. By trying to use 'science' to make yourself more like God you set yourself back as much as those who build large idols of metal and worshiped them. You shall be similarly punished--punished by exile from the holy land.

Commissioner Mis is pleased to announce her election to Planetary Governor and sends thanks to those who generously supported her candidacy. It is regrettable that the election celebrations have been overshadowed by growing friction between the two other factions on Chiron.
