There have been quite a lot of tournament game takeovers in the past few weeks, and I thought this might be a good time to remind the takeover players of the scoring system. Ordinarily, you will lose a point and count as defeated if you lose a game, but when you take over for someone else, your position might be very poor or hopeless. Therefore, you have the option to have your takeover games not count for you when it comes to scoring - that is, you will not lose points or count as defeated if you lose, nor gain any points if you win. The other players get their usual points, of course.
Note that the decision of whether your game should count or not should be made as early as possible; you are not allowed to wait and see how things go, then decide not to have it count two turns before your opponent conquers you/transcends/whatever.
