Well, unless you guys are really impressive I'm going to get the Planetary Energy Grid... but my research is behind your two.. and as it sits I don't know how I'm going to catch up. Tig

It's circular - we're all making sure that we keep up with each other on research.
What's making me fairly despondent about my current situation is the fact that I have far fewer bases. I'm not much of an expert on playing the Consciousness, but I'd have thought that the general idea is to expand fairly hard to take advantage of their excellent efficiency. Anyway, having an empire around 60% of the size of that of both your opponents just can't be a good idea
Well, we'll see. It's certainly an interesting game - completely different to the others I'm playing.
First attack from one of the alien factions came this turn by the way. A sealurk.

Next turn sent to the University. Nothing much to report. Congrats on the Planetary Energy Grid Tig - I would have built it next turn if you hadn't

Everyone wanted the Energy Grid. Ah well, there are still 11 projects to choose from, I think. Congratulations to the University.
I am sorry to say that I will be away the rest of the evening again.

Umm..thanks for the congratulations, but the Energy Grid didn't go online until this turn.
There was a large celebration in University Base and CEO Tau was asked to review the new facility as the leading authority on wealth and income on the planet. Rumor is his opinions of the new facility will be the cover story on tomorrow's paper.

'This device taps Planet itself for energy,' CEO Tau Ceti said in amazement. 'A truly ingenious invention by the University scientists. I wish we had thought of it first... but it seems we have a worthy competitor for Planet's economy.'
Morganic analysts predict a sharp increase in the earnings of key University businesses, but some are also worried that all the extra energy will flood the market and cause inflation.

2137 to Misotu. I have a small-scale war with Marr - but so far it is my Unity Rovers against his Scout Patrols.

No, I *know* - but I was congratulating you on the fact that you were unstoppable by then
Anyway, my son arrived home from school for Easter last night so I shan't be on-line as much as usual for the next few weeks. However, I'm planning to check my mail at least twice a day so I hope to be able to send turns nearly as regularly as usual ...

Falling further behind in the area of technology, Provost Tig had a meeting today with his senior researchers. After repeated attempts by his researching board prompting him to shift toward a more knowledge intensive society. The Provost pointed at the bottom line of our current income ledgers. The scientists protested that in a more knowledgable atmosphere we could cut nearly half a year off our research time. Again the provost pointed to the bottom line. There was a heated exchange and the researchers stormed out.
In other news, there are several openings among the research positions at University base after an accident took the lives of 3 prominent researchers.

In an amazing turn around story today, the three researchers which were assumed to have died in an explosion last week at University Base, were recovered in okay condition. Provost Tig was on scene and quoted as saying "Thank god they're alright. They're the best and brightest we have and our research efforts would be seriously hindered without them." Upon their recovery it is said that the Provost approved their plan to move to a more knowledge intensive society.

Morgan Aerodynamics is proud to present the first air vehicles built on Planet! The first squadron of Missile Lifters has already been delivered to the Morganic armed forces. CEO Tau Ceti has assured his neighbours that this is a purely defensive measure, as the squadron, being equipped primarily with air-to-air missiles, would be of little use in an offensive.
Morgan Industries has also announced that research budgets have been cut; the funds will instead be used for construction and industrial development. All tourist flights and ships to University territory have been mysteriously cancelled after this announcement.

The Borg continue to operate a free market/wealth-based economy with most of the profits being ploughed into research.
Next turn sent to Tig.

Datafiles have been sent to the Morganites. It is slightly baffling to me at this time how they can claim the first air units on planet when I completed the first air unit 2 years ago.

Our intelligence reports indicated that our air units would be completed before our competitors. Clearly those reports must have been inaccurate. The people responsible have been fired.
I do not have the reports here right now, but would it be correct to say that we built the first helicopters?

Yes, you did build the first helicopter.
In other news, we are pleased to announce the completion of the sky base academy. It is rumored that this facility has a long term goal of being a satellite factory once we perfect that technology and its secondary benefit of better air units is just a side effect.

'You wanted to see me, CEO?'
'Yes, Security Chief. The news has just reached us that the University has built what they call a "sky base academy".'
'Indeed they have, CEO.'
'Now take a look at these intelligence photographs of the new facility, obtained yesterday...'
'Yes...?'
'...and compare them to these blueprints our researchers made a few years ago, detailing a "Cloudbase Academy"...'
'An uncanny resemblance, CEO.'
'Yes, and that is not all. Compare the University's Energy Grid facility to these conceptual drawings that we had made up a few years ago.'
'It seems we have a security leak, CEO.'
'Indeed we have, and I suggest you do your job and find it - NOW.'
'I will get on the matter at once, CEO.'

An uneventful turn is off to the Morganites...I'm having problems with my lap top and it crashed again on this turn. Its usually crashing on the loading process.. it took me nearly a half hour to get this turn done..erg.

More native life forms seem to have taken a strong interest in our method of dealing with planet. The results of this last nest could be unfortunate.

Liked your Cloudbase post Tau
Sorry for the lack of participation in the thread recently - it's hard to share a computer with a teenager
Anyway, 2144 sent to Tig. Have checked the Datalinks for "Miracle Victory" SP, but couldn't find it. A serious omission on the part of the developers, methinks

Thanks, Mis
I was just a little annoyed when Tig in a very short time built the two SPs at the top of my list. But there are still plenty to go for.
Otherwise, nothing much to report. 2145 sent on.
