So Hobbes and I are running on Librarian and mark and buster on transcend
What to do?
1) ignore
2) restart
3) every turn Hobbes and I give mark and buster 10 credits (arbitrary, but would in some way redress our cheaper cost of production and fewer drones)
4) every 25 turns Hobbes and I give mark and buster a free tech (again, arbitrary, but would help offset their slower research at transcend level)
5) forced alliances (make it into a team game) by combining a librarian and transcend couple against the other - not necassarily in warfare, but certainly in tech sharing, etc
As there seem to be about ten or so games affected, wait until a composite solution is adopted that applies to everyone in all games (utopia)
Meanwhile, play the turns to keep the game moving and address what to do through this thread (and backdate any decision re techs and credits?)

Turn turned.
Hmmmmmmmmmm. 2 out of 3 pods popped contained MW's. Yuck. What's worse, even though the map contains the label "unity wreckage" there's no wreckage there.
I'm running librarian also- 24 credits to change SE preference.
PS: Mark13 made a mistake- see his comment on Googlie's thread & he is running at librarian also. That makes your team solution irrelevent Googlie.

Apologies all, I did indeed make a mistake - that'll teach me not to check it
I am indeed on Librarian level - so....ummm....everyone attack the guy on transcend! Seriously though.....ummmm....I really don't know what to do about this....ummmm....LOL, the ironic thing is, the guy on transcend is top of the power chart - if he beats us like this it's egg-on-face time

I have done my turn.
I have been quite lucky so far with pods and the drone probs and other penalties will mainly kick in later in the game.
I think the most proper would be to restart. The arbitrary solutions are no good, I think. Simply too arbitary. The teaming up idea would have been OK if it was two against two, but this does not really work out either.
Also earlier I know there were some problems in the early implementations where things that should have been more expensive build actually were cheaper. Whether this is fixed or not I don't know. If not this may have helped me along.
I like tough but fair competition and whether I manage to pull off some star stunt or go down with with a bang later, the fun is somehow spoiled as the playing field is not level and this will show somewhere along the line. I know at transcend for instance running free market is a major pain and I cannot keep hoping to trade what I do not myself research though have been lucky to keep up so far even if running growth - rather than tech oriented SE.
I do not know if Tau has seen it and what he says, but personally I think it would be better to take the consequence and restart sooner rather than later.

Do we have the scenario file (basic original) so that we can fix this?

OK, I'd be up for a restart - the game is pretty quick anyway, so it shouldn't take too long to get to where we are now.

Regarding restart, I could not quite figure out from the comments if Tau nailed down the error or not.
I do not have much experience with Scenario based games and setting them up. Will see if I can sort it out - in case no one else does either.
Otherwise I suggest that either Mark or Rynn (who seem to know something about this) get the original file, see if this can be fixed and get it going again from scratch.
Then I just have to hope that I do not fare a lot worse this time.

OK, restart it is, if that is the overall opinion - let's hope it is as enthralling as the first go....

Well, I hate to start again but it seems like that may be the best way to go. I go with Buster's decision, since Buster is the one affected.

Um... I have the scenario, and I now know how to avoid the problem (it is a matter of setting one additional option in one menu). So a restart should be pretty quick, and there is no need for any of you to get involved.

Thanks - hope we can get moving agains soon. Sorry about making a fuss, I was tempted to take the challenge, but I signed up for this tournament exactly because it is a tournament and in the end - after maybe more than a year- we would otherwise end up with something that does not really count anyway.
Rather loose a month than waste a year type of thing.
At least we all now know the map and the rules right from the start.
Actually my main concern is that this time Hobbes will probably go like hell to get there before me. Isn't that so Hobbes?

I have told Tau of our desire for a restart in this game in case he hasn't been informed of our decision yet.
Race to where Buster? LOL Yes a restart will add another dimension to the game.

I'll have no internet access until around noon PST on Thursday (en route to Palm Springs) - I apologize in advance for any delays this causes to our game
