turn has become Hobbes_One.
trying to come up with conversation, here... uh... what's your favorite sandwich? Myself, I like a nice Rueben or hot pastrami. Or an open-face turkey sandwich with gravy on it. Mmmmmm, gravy.

Oops, I forgot to post my turn here. Please to forgive. What is a Rueben? It's a Jewish delicatessen sandwich, I believe, consisting of saurkraut, a heap huge pile of sliced roast beef, and... is it mayonnaise? Something like that. Ideally on rye bread. Tasteee and years off your life to boot.

Turn to Hobbissimo.
Okay, sandwiches was another non-starter. Favortie Winnie-the-Pooh character? I myself always liked Eeyore for his glum outsider-ness. I resent it when they put a little smile on the eeyore toys.

BTW Nigel, could you remember to zip the file next time please (I had to wait 15 minutes as both games came across). Thanks.

Turn sent to the Hobbes-man.
So, what's your vote for the most annoying interface peculiarity with SMAC? The one that drives me crazy the most is how the game doesn't remember where you were on the F4 screen when you go back and forth between the bases and the overview of production. Man, that bites.

Turn turned to Nigel. These early stages are sooooooo boring!
I vote for Tigger, though he's been way over commercialized now.
What I want to know is why can't I zip a file from within SMAC & also why I have to restart the game completely every time I play a PBEM game, sometimes I have 4 or 5 to play & have to restart each time after saving the game. Annoying.

On the restarting to play MP turns 'feature', anyone tried doing that edit thing to stop the intro from playing? I'm wondering if speeds up loading at all.

Turn sent....
Nigel:
Not much at all. It has the same effect of playing SMAC without the disc, only without the annoying message.
I don't mind so much about the actual zipping, but having to restart each time really is a pain.
