Well ... turn sent on. I hope. The rules don't say anything about just HOW the file is s'posed to be saved and this is my first.

Just so you guys know, I check the hotmail account about 3 times a day (before work, after work, before sleep). My time zone is PST (USA).

He said he would be away from Dec. 14 to Jan. 8, but it does not look like he is back. I will find a replacement player.

big_canuk ( kckhnsn@mnsi.net ) has volunteered to take over the Drones. Please send him the turn, and I hope the game gets moving.

You probably figured this out, but my email is: kckhnsn@mnsi.net
(not cnet)
Funny, you wouldn't expect Tau to make those typos, given how few games he CMN's and how much he gets paid.

Xerxes2:
I got the game from you, but its your turn. If you played it, then perhaps you saved using the Menu, Game, save, exit on the left hand side. You need to use the "Turn Complete" at the top of the lower right hand box. Then chose "save and exit" when it comes up my turn, and asks for my password. Hope this is clear.

Well... Third time, still Xerxes2's move. Obviously my explanation is not sufficient. I asked him to post here, and maybe one of you guys can help him too.

Quick guide to SMAC(X) PBEM:
When you get your turn it is usually zipped to make it a smaller file. Unzip it with an (un)zip utility such as Winzip or Powerarchiver into the saves directory which is a subdirectory of the directory where you installed SMAC(X)
Load the game by choosing "multiplayer" - "hotseat/pbem" - "load multiplayer game". You'll get a list of all the saved games in the saves directory. Double-click the one you want to play (or click once and then click ok). The game will load, you will get a window with the faction and leader name where you click ok. Next you will get a window where you type your password and hit enter.
You can now play your turn just like in a single-player game. Only the diplomacy with other human players is a bit different, but should not be to difficult to learn.
When you hit enter to end your turn (or click on end turn) you will be taken to the password window. Click on "save and exit". You will now be able to save your game. Unfortunately it defaults to the main SMAC(X) directory, so you should go to the saves subdirectory. You can save in the main directory, but that will make your save difficult to find between all the program files. Enter a name for your saved game such as AXT036-[playername]-[year].
Now you can email the saved game to the next player, but you might want to zip it first to make a smaller file to send to the next player.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions just ask and I will try to answer them.
Edit: I see that Xerxes sent the game while I was typing. I hope it works this time.

Turn Sent to Professor Paul
You guys might get the msg about me loading once. For some reason when I first loaded the game it set "turn complete" , thought I loaded the wrong game and checked, not sure if I did or not but I reloaded the "right" one and played it.
