2122 to RedFred
(Glad to see from the faction profiles that I'm not the only one finding it a challenge to grow population. I've identified about five great sites for bases but have no pods to move there yet.
Still, they will be well prepped when they do finally get there)

Yeah, I noticed that. This game my people seem to grow much slower than in single player. (Although this could just be that in SP you can click ENDOFTURN rapidly until they do grow.)
Is this unusual or is there something about MP that I don't know? I mean, how difficult should it be to get a decent pop growth?
"I have often pondered the relationship between yin (female) and yang (male), and I have deduced strange conclusions. A tribe without men to act on behalf of the females during birthing and the hunt is at a serious disadvantage. However, a tribe without females to bring the new life in the first place, is doomed to extinction." - Social Director Liu Anfang, addressing the Hive Domestic Committee, MY 2103
"Chairman Mao would turn in his grave. Not only do the women of our society support half of its heavenly load, but they bear the whole of its earthly burden also." - Chairman Sheng Ji Yang, addressing the Hive Domestic Committee, MY 2103.
"Mate! Mate! Dammit! Come on, you lot! Follow your poxy reproductive instincts, you skanky frigid little ingrate peons!" - Domestic Overseer Alinestra Covelia, unofficially quoted, rhetorically addressing her computer terminal.

HEY! No complaining. You people probably have tech by now. Tech like Cent. Eco. I dream of having formers... Nothing for me to do but cruise around in my nifty rovers.

I know I had a slow start with no extra pod on landing. I assumed we are on a lower difficulty level, but keep forgetting to confirm that. Back to the paperwork for new production and exploration plans.

RP1 2123 to Chairman Yang.
My guess is that the apparent slow pace of growth and tech is due to the pace of the 7-way PBEM game, which has been going since November! Can any of you experienced PBEMers confirm this?

Soon to go to Hobbes.
As a yardstick, I am currently about 41 turns into another PBEM game with only 5 players, not 7. However, this other game is actually roundabout twice as long in turns, since we developed a bug halfway through and had to restart the whole game.
Mind you, the other players are all seasoned and probably have the entire turn-posting thing down pat.

Wel I have 3 bases & a fourth next turn. I also have formers. Just as long as those cruising rovers are a long, long, way away from me!
