Settings: Transcend difficulty, huge map, average conditions except abundant
life forms. Pods scattering, directed research, no tech steal, random
events, all victory condition enabled. The NU1 map has larger landmasses.

Each player starts with 4 pods, 4 scouts and 3 formers, on their own island,
within reasonable distance of their pactmate (Gaian + PK vs UoP + Drones).
Each has access to at least one resource within a few tiles of the starting
location, often with a second one not too far off.

No, seriously, we agreed we wouldn't - you and Googlie were going to have to forswear it for 20 turns in the previous Nato runs (due to a misunderstanding on exactly this issue) as I recall.
