***Broadcast to all factions***
"The University have accepted the surrender of the Hive. However, this surrender does not come without a price - the three Hive bases occupied by the University will remain under University control.
The good Governor's concerns are not unjustified - however, we hope that she will not degenerate her diplomatic stance toward us. Tensions had been growing on the Hive border for quite some time now, and we felt it was justifiable action to strike first before we, the University, suffered a similar fate.
The Gaian citizenry can rest assured that they will not be attacked by our jets. Relations have so far been good between our two factions, and we have no desire for that to change.
Also, you need not fear the deployment of x-weapons - although the majority of our jets have been fitted with nerve gas pods, this is purely for security, and we have neither the desire nor the intention of gassing other humans. The Gaian units in Hive bases have been left alone, and Manufacturing Warrens has been left unharmed. It is hoped that the good Lady's daughter is returned safely to Gaian territory, without harm.
We hope this can be the beginnings of a new and peaceful era in the history of humanity, and that the great war of 2241 may be confined to the vaults of history. Our attention must now focus on the menace of our alien neighbours - the Usurpers, for they collectively pose the biggest threat to mankind as a whole."
Regards,
Provost Mark13, from University HQ in University Base

Googlie - as a side note (out of character) it might be a good idea to edit the last post. I know people in Germany get very edgy about events in WW2, and the implications of the 'piece of paper' and Lord Chamberlain are obvious.
Or perhaps I'm just being paranoid.

Hmmm - Having worked in Zurich with a multinational Corp, where many of my friends were German, I can't say I agree. (and it was much closer, time-wise, to the war as well)
But it only takes one......... Post deleted.
And 2245 resent to mark13

Well, I know that the little time I spent in Germany, WW2 was very much an out-of-bounds subject. It was nearly 15 years ago now, so perhaps time has healed things....but still, it leaves something of a bitter taste in the mouth of a lot of people. Thanks, anyway.
2245 to XWaste - the University air force are proud to announce the seizure of three further Usurper bases.

(and, hey, in my "production base" they take 4 turns at 24 mins per turn - that's 96 mins, or 192 credits, plus the row 1 supplement, and my profit margin - so you can buy fusion empath AAA's from me for 300 credits each.
just send the cheque and they're yours.

Who, me? Naaah....
Turn received from the ex-Planetary Governor and on to XWaste....
****************************
"Provost Mark13 looked up at the miniscreen above him, to see a large lake, where a thriving Gaian colony once stood. 'It had to be done', he thought.
He looked at the many thousands of Gaian citizens dying from nuclear fallout in PlanetDreams. 'It had to be done', he thought.
He looked at the TV coverage of the ongoing war in Hive territory, where the broadcast proudly announced that only four bases were now under Hive control. He felt a glowing sense of pride.
It wouldn't matter what it took from now on, it didn't matter how many thousands of people were butchered previously, but if Provost Mark13 became ultimate leader of the human race, he would be content.
And it felt good, as it had to be done."

2260 to Xwaste....
Just a small issue to be resolved - I undertsand there is a bug in the game which means that it will end if I eradicate XWaste. However, if XWaste obliterates the base himself, the game will proceed as usual - as I will eradicate XWaste next turn, should he do it this turn?
