New Game, New Player
Hi, Im a new PBEM player looking for another 2+ players for a fast, but long game (At least able to check e-mail twice a day - would be nice to co-ordinate player order with specified times)
I would like to be Hive.
I have one other player already (Undecided on faction) and I would like to play the following rules:
Map Size: Small - Standard
Ocean Coverage: 50-70% of Surface
Erosive Forces: Average
Native Life Forms: Abundant
Cloud Cover: Sparse
Difficulty Level: Librarian - Thinker
Custom Rules
Higher Goal: Allow Victory by Trancendance
Total War: Allow Victory by Conquest
Peace in our Time: Allow Diplomatic Victory
Mine, All Mine: Allow Economic Victory
One for All: Allow Cooperative Victory
Tech Stagnation: Slower rate of research discoveries
Blind Research: Cannot set precise research goals
No Unity Survey: World Map not visible
No Unity Scattering: Supply Pods only at landing sites
As I said looking for a long game. No comms before contact (How do comms work in a PBEM game anyway?)
If anyone wants to quibble with some of these rules, say so - but I won't play accelerated start - takes half the skill and fun of the survival phase away. It would be good if we could set aside a good proportion of the first few nights to get it all ticking over nicely
Finally, must be prepared to roleplay diplomacy properly as well, so choose a faction you like a lot.

You can sign me up for it. Wouldn't a larger map mean for a longer game?

True about the larger map - but the only problem with them is sometimes it can take far too long to meet someone. If you want a larger map, just say, and we can decide when we get another player

I prefer a larger map as I beleive it is the beginning of the end when players meet...

If you're rating this, I'm in, too.

OK, we have got ourselves a game! The other player is called Blazde. As far as I know we all want to be rated (unless Sits doesnt), Both I and Blazde can beat the AI on trancend.
I guess we'll go for a large map, with the two Progenitors as AI, playing on thinker. As I said I would like to play the Hive, but dont really mind what faction I play.

'Lo
Bout time I showed myself.
I'd prefer really small maps, but I'm sure we can all figure out a compromise. I'll prolly play the Data Angels.
I should point out that I haven't played by email before. As Taxa said, how does the diplomacy work? Other than that I assume it's identical to a non-simultaneous moves game.
