2223 to WE
BTW, much as I'd like to take those ratings seriously, I just....can't. Seeing as I am only up there due to an extremely fortuitous first 25 turns of Strife.

That's what I tried to tell Solver when he was rallying the troops to get this thing going. I reckon that the factions that can pop boom, and the ones that start with extra techs from the get go are going to be the factions (players) who top out the chart. Ah well, lets brag while we still can!

I think the factions should be rated at the same time as the players. Then your rating would be adjusted by the relative rating of the faction. That would do two things:
1) Give a subjective score to each faction
2) Allow players to prove their worth by playing a particular faction better than average
But, I can't bring myself to mention it to Solver. I'm afraid it would open the can of worms, again.

2224 to WE....
Big C - only problem with that is the factions' positions tend to fluctuate throughout the game. Take the Drones, for instance - lousy in the early game, but they do tend to get stronger through the mid-game, and they are usually a force to be reckoned with by the late game. Having one score for the faction throughout the whole game ranks the factions - something it isn't really possible to do.

Just to past on a kernel of wisdom...
The game stated that you, Mark13, called for the vote when I believe it probably was Lal. This happend to me in another PBEM where Yang called for an election, I voted and pasted the turn to the next player, and it informed him that I called the vote when, in fact, it was Yang. Another bug. Ah well, Civ3 will be out soon enough and I'll have somthing new to complain about.
Turn to Big Canuk this afternoon.

---------------
Sorry about the reload. When I dropped my drop transport (with a unit inside), the whole thing disappeared. I was sure this was a bug, so I quit and restarted. Smac then froze on restart, and I had to reboot the computer. (A reboot didn't work; had to turn it all the way off and then start up: weird). I did the drop first the next turn, and it worked out ok. I dropped it on the coast. Could I have originally missed and dropped it in the water? (Don't think so, cause it would have warned me, iirc).
Anyway, the only minor thing that changed is that my empath chopper went undammaged attacking a worm, where the original time it ended up about 1/3 dammaged. All else the same.
Let me know if not a bug, please.
