I guess someone has found the borehole cluster ("three holes")--This map has "modified landmarks". Maybe there is more than one .LOL.

2164 is done and 2165 dawns on the cult-- You will get a reload message caused by my trying to play half asleep this morning-- When I entered my password I hit "save and exit" instead of ok. I cancelled this and it brought me into my turn but I could not move anything so I reloaded. Absolutely no efect on the game since I had done nothing on the first try.

From a report to the foreman from the superintendant of Colonization . . .
"The Planetary Transit System is having immediate beneficial effects. Our first colony to be established using this system immediately grew to a town of 3 contented citizens. The implications for fast growth of the population and increasing the workforce are obvious."

I'm having a network breakdown and I'm working hard to fix that problem. I'll let you know when I'm ready again. Shouldn't take more than 1-2 days.

Year 2165 to Walt.
_______
As the reports of Secret Projects under construction by rival factions came in, I couldn't help but wonder whether our society will be ill-equipped for war if it should ever come. Ever since the foundation of Industrial Automation was laid, our citizens no longer felt the need to continue honing their Survival instincts. Instead, they have chosen to build up material and industrial Wealth. While this has propelled our economy and research forward, it has also made our citizens content and lazy.
Part of this is my fault, since in our yearly budgets, I constantly chose domestic projects and structures over military units and preparedness. The results are unmistakable: military morale is at an all-time low. If our soldiers are so inept that they cannot even assemble a laser rifle, how is our pacifictic society supposed to defend ourselves?
The new Command Center at Gaia's Landing was set up to counter this negative trend in our military. I am also considering satellite Command Centers in our other bases, but for the time being, all military operations and training will have to be centralized in our headquarters.

Year 2166 to Walt.
_______
Deirdre: Uh, Chief, what have you done with the terminal interface?
Chief Engineer: I merely upgraded the servers and programs and added many more features. Like it?
Deirdre: Uh, did anyone ask for this to be done?
Chief Engineer: Not really. I just thought I'd do it on my free time.
Deirdre: You've got too much time on your hands ...

Just to let you know that I will be out of town (leaving on the 24th and returning on the 26th)-- I should be able to play on both the 24th (very early) and the 26th (very late )so I do not propose to get a replacement . If I play on the 24th it might be that I do not hold things up at all.
Actually I see that tench will be away as well so no added delay by me.

This new version is killing my internet connection (or my lame computer), anyway this means it's gonna take me forever to post here, so allen, (especially) you should check your mail more often than this site.

Well I'm back and raring to go but I thought tench could not play until Monday.
This game is getting interesting but it would be even more interesting if I could find some more of you folks. I am getting lonely LOL (although visits from momentum factions are not desired)

I am the intrepid explorer!
I should have contact with Tench this turn, and I'll establish contact with you, too, within a couple turns. There's just not that much of the map left...
Then we can exchange some contact frequencies, and then the /real/ fun can begin!

I am also exploring actively so there must be more of the map "unknown" than you think LOL. Or perhaps our explorers have been to the same places but just missed each other.
I am looking forward to contact with everyone since that is when the real fun can begin.

2168 received and partially played. I'm holding on to it while I wait for a response to a negotiation email from Tench.
____
Allen, yes, please send turns to both addresses until Friday. From Friday on, please send turns /only/ to the shedim@altavista.com address until further notice. I'm moving, and I may not keep the @Home address. Don't know yet.

How do you partially play a turn? Do you just leave the game turn open until you get an email reply of is there a way to save the turn at an intermediate stage? I have always assumed that I was stuck with the in game diplomacy plus email diplomacy between turns. It is a lot better to call someone up while your impact rover next to their impact rover still has movement points left LOL.

Just save the turn. When you bring it up again, it'll be right where you left it.
