The turn will be along in a couple of hours when I get home but I will say a borg style with 3 square base spacing means a lot of bases in a small area. When you asserted that the Spartans high morale and prototyping makes them overpowering I was thinking of the HIVE as their strongest possible opponent. While population is still low, each of these bases can potentially support 4 units for free.

This should be the true test of the theory that started this challenge. Can the Spartans abilities to create elite units allow them to overwhelm other nations? The Hive game will be the acid test.

I look at the other games as tests of other strategies against your Spartan one. Both the Gaians and the UNI research well so it is hoped that they will garner a tech advantage to counter your morale advantage.

--- and as for the covert ship in the Gaian game, I doubt he will be around for long. Either you will kill him or he will do his "business" and leave

Hive Game (standard map)

TROMP, TROMP, TROMP-- The Chairman smiled as yet another heavily armed division of troops marched by. He was beginning to regret ordering a parade of all his military as the procession was scheduled to run for many hours.

Gaians (Large map)

The Believers seem to have developed a very large and strong empire. It will be necessary to befriend them before turning military attention to the Spartans.

UNIVERSITY (Huge map)

The Hive persists in sending unit after unit to their deaths in the prepared ambushes awaiting them. The chancellor finds it tiresome but appreciates the morale upgrades.

More bases, more troops, more bases, more troops.

Gaian game

The Green navy reports that it is bombarding improvements in the Spartan homeland. Intelligence reports that the Spartans are building naval forces to deal with this action. The biggest threat to either the Gaians or the Spartans, appears to be the Believers (they have a HUGE empire).

University game

Research appears to be carrying the day. Better high tech methods are allowing University troops to interdict the annoying Hive attacks at earlier and earlier times.

Spartans announce the REAL turn of the century, contrary to premature statements by "calendar- challenged" faction leaders.

Hive Game: Recently acquired technology has strengthened our military preparations.

Gaian game: The Spartan Navy reports no Gaian activity in the area, despite their boasts. Perhaps they are lurking somewhere in that blasted fungus they are so fond of?

University Game: Many enemy forces have tasted the Spartan steel, and perished.
