Love to express my vote... but...
Aployton, I & many others don't have a clue what our passwords are because we long ago told our browser to remember it & stick it into our "Post Reply" login.
Don't work here guys... nor, as i'v been meaning to tell U, does it work on any of your other survey response boxes/windows/ports/links or what U call'm.
Bet U would a WHOLE LOT votes & opinions if U could help out here a little?
===========================================
AS for my opinion... Yes! i NOW thinks it's great up to the point combats starting.
HOWEVER, have some real problems with it's fairness & simultaneousness(?) after the battling starts. Gotta go to normal while there are serious wars going on.

Mark...
U guys run an excellent site here. What i'm trying to tell U is:
a] your survey vote boxes DO NOT work in the same fast, convienent way that this Post a Reply box does (note U other "helpful" smart asses). If i didn't know or my browser didn't remember id's & passwords, how could i be doing all these posts?
b] i tried again to vote here & also tried using 1 of the survey boxes... nothing gets automatically inserted! Unlike when I(& no doubt dozens of other users) clik on the Post a Reply or Private Mailbox input screens.
c]i'v been-there-done-that with having U re-mail my password = a major pain in the butt because;
#1- we have to wait for ____ to get it &
#2- for some reason you won't allow users to change/create a password that is meaningful TO US, the user. So we HAVE to waste our time & yours if we clean out our cookies &/or accumulated megabytes of internet history files.
d] convienence & easy-of-use DOES matter, especially in non-essential activites. If we were into working hard, we wouldn't be sitting on our butts doing nothing more than type & clik. How many times have U not bothered to switch channels because the remote channel was ALL THE WAY over there or get up off our ass to actually go touch the TV to "vote" for another channel?!
It's not like U have to protect national security secrets here. Why can't U just set up the site so:
A> ALL your User/Password boxes are the same
&/or
B> allow can have passwords WE can EASILY remember?

MarkG, would it be possible to make the computer remember your password also for polls? That would be very convenient.

I think this poll is useless.
Obviously since 50% of the civ community plays duels they think it should be turn based. The other half play multiplayer and they think it should be a combination of sim turns and turn based for when war breaks out.
Ask the question differently and see what kind of response you get.
Ask if playing sim turns is a good idea, then switching to turned based for those colors which are at war... for instance with a 7 player game if the germans and romans are at war, the romans move first then the germans but everyone else moves at the same time

Is that possible - if it were i would vote for that everytime but slightly modified. I would say anytime any 2 units have the potential of moving into the same square it should become turn based (i.e. 2 horsemen of different civs see the same hut)
Also who goes first should change at the end of each encounter - kinda like a possession arrow in basketball - otherwise the romans, from your example, would have a huge advantage. They, in effect, would have the same advantage that the host has now, which is exactly what we are trying to avoid

no because when war is declared, turn order is observed until peace is signed.

It doesn't matter. It's really simultaneous, yet still turn based.
