Yes war4 , RAH, Berz and I did play yesterday, quite fun and I learned a fair bit about playing 2x prod.
At least I got through a 7 Hour session without defeat. How did Horse go the first time he played you War4ever?

Sorry about last night, lads. Toothache to end all toothaches. Even Panadene Forte couldn't lay a glove on it. An emergency trip to the dentist this morning, followed by a triple-strength espresso, and I'm feeling much better, thanks.

Don't count on me tonight - Mrs Horse chucked a big wobbly last night and we had a bit of a row. Divorce came up, as did the possibility of me marrying my computer. It was ugly.
All out of a clear blue sky.

Mrs Horse in full flight is a fearsome sight - she knows I'm good with words so I'm not even allowed to talk back
Better go home now and see if I'm still married.

My ability to play is really a day to day proposition at the moment. I'm back on good terms with Mrs Horse but she needs a lot of help, as well as comfort and emotional support. Hre back isn't too good, she's fading visibly as the pregnancy progresses. This isn't helped by the fact that the midwife told her either they got the due date wrong or this is going to be a very big baby

Horse--
I bought myself several hours on the computer by rearranging every stick of furniture in the house...but it looks like the meter is running out again.
Yours in the trenches,
SuperSneak.
Why can't they just leave us alone? Damn women...jealous of a friggin' computer. I keep telling her I should just start drinking and whoring, but she doesn't seem to catch on to how good she's got it.
My God...what have I done?

My complaint about Mr. Rasputin
In this letter, I will try to describe Mr. Rasputin's "compromises" in such a way that my language will not offend and yet will still convey my message that in a lustrum or two, Rasputin will turn his back on those who need him the most. The nitty-gritty of what I'm about to write is this: My current plan is to ensure that we survive and emerge triumphant out of the coming chaos and destruction. Yes, he will draw upon the most powerful fires of Hell to tear that plan asunder, but if you think that skin color means more than skill and gender is more impressive than genius, then you're suffering from very serious nearsightedness. You're focusing too much on what Rasputin wants you to see and failing to observe many other things of much greater importance. While these incidents may seem minor, he has spent untold hours trying to stultify art and retard the enjoyment and adoration of the beautiful. During that time, did it ever once occur to him that his primary viewpoint, that the purpose of life is self-gratification, is directly related to the attitudes in our society that perpetuate harmful stereotypes? Fortunately for us, the key to the answer is obvious: We find among narrow and uneducated minds the belief that he has mystical powers of divination and prophecy. This belief is due to a basic confusion, which can be cleared up simply by stating that Rasputin's hastily mounted campaigns are designed to undermine the current world order. And they're working; they're having the desired effect. I used to think that effrontive wimps were the most gutless people on the planet, but now I know that Rasputin doesn't want us to take steps toward creating an inclusive society free of attitudinal barriers. He would rather we settle for the meatless bone of imperialism.
Similarly, we must put an end to unsophisticated Pyrrhonism. If we don't, future generations will not know freedom. Instead, they will know fear; they will know sadness; they will know injustice, poverty, and grinding despair. Most of all, they will realize, albeit far too late, that antiheroism is not merely an attack on our moral fiber. It is also a politically motivated attack on knowledge. Someone needs to build a society in which people have a sense of permanence and stability, not chaos and uncertainty. Who's going to do it? Rasputin? I think not.
You might think this is all pretty funny now, but I doubt I'll hear you laughing if, sooner or later, he is successfully able to create a beachhead for organized insurrectionism. You know what we'd have if everybody wanted to shatter and ultimately destroy our most precious possessions? Total chaos. What I had wanted for this letter was to write an analysis of Mr. Rasputin's recommendations. Not a exhortation or a shrill denunciation, but an analysis. I hope I have succeeded at that.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A RANDOMLY GENERATED COMPLAINT LETTER FROM http://www-csag.cs.uiuc.edu/individual/pakin/complaint
PS: Don't take it personal Ras....I had to make a random complaint against someone. It's a bit bit of a harsh one eh?

Dang cable's been down since yesterday (Sunday) arvo. Cue a snide Horse post. I'm here now on dial-up. Which sucks for speed and stability. Cue another snide Horse post.
PS. I have absolutely no idea what either Lowang or Raz were talking about. But why should today be different?

Sorry to disappoint you finbar but I'm in being nice mode in the interests of enticing people back to play
I am particularly determined to be nice to Deity but if he suggests yet another new mega game my patience may wear thin Aside from that, butter wouldn't melt in my mouth. We have some good games in hand I think.
On the new T.V. series, you won't want for lack of material. The Government is so hated down here in Canberra that I'm sure the photocopiers and dead drops to journalists will be running hot between now and the election.
One thing you must cover, which is causing huge mirth in the public service, is the last boat off the Titanic mentality which has now gripped the offices of both Coalition Parliamentarians and their staff. Apparently C.V.'s are flying in all directions and frankly there isn't much of a market out there for Howard Government associates They are also having a lot of trouble filling vacancies where people did find another job.

Cable's back up again! While grateful to be spared a Horse spray, I'm not sure that I can handle niceness dripping from your pen. A bit like being starving hungry, opening the fridge, and finding only Tofu.
Interestingly enough, the CV thing has been touched on. My ep is a parody of the Shane Stone memo. Given the fascist nature of the current ABC hierarchy, I can't for the life of me see the ABC going ahead with the series. Which is why we're bending over backwards to ensure both sides get it in the neck.

If you're going for both sides, and let's face it, both sides are so richly deserving, I think a play on the has-beens theme would go down very nicely - maybe squabbling to get their old offices back, that sort of thing. Also, the nepotism thing is well worth a few laughs. The "son of" phenomenon is even infecting the back bench (Fitzgibbon for example).
Its depressing, no wonder there is a pox on both their houses mentality in the electorate. Does either side inspire? I think not - in fact Labor's strategy seems to be to make themselves as small a target as possible, which also makes them look pathetic. Cynicism reigns.

We have to go for both sides or risk bias allegations. And they're both not only richly deserving, there's also a mountain of material on each side. You're getting very prescient - our Lib MP is a "son of".

Yes it does. Labor is simply borrowing Howard's routine from the election before last - offer as little as possible in the way of policies, let the other side implode. Fair enough, I suppose. Anything to get rid of the poisonous little toad.

Sorry, this has really got me interested. Doing anything on wedge politics? Howard has played it to the hilt but now all the interest groups seem to have turned against him. Nice irony there.

I'll try to insert something about wedge politics. At this stage it's pretty much open slather, providing we keep the sh*tcanning evenhanded. As I say, though, it probably won't ever get made, unfortunately. I see it as sort of "The Games" meets "Yes Minister".

What happened to "Frasier" meets "The Naked Chef"?
Politics is not funny. Remember "Benson"? People like lawyers and mobsters and yuppies living well beyond their means in fashionable New York apartments.
Now, a young lawyer who works for the mob and lives with all his buddies in a $4000 loft--that would sell.
Well...looks like at least two people in Oz will think it clever and hilarious...
:P
