Its looking good here. More info I havent seen before. Seems Activision is paying more attention to the forum in response, which is always good.

Great. Although the info is not as useful, but the pictures and the things that have made it to the game are interesting.

Very nice Markos. Just one question, where are you getting this info from? Did Activision give you a pre alpha build?

Good summary of available info.
I usually spend my time on CivIII, Dino, SMAC forums. I used to ignore most of CTP topics because of bad feedback the game itself received from many players.
With a Dino so different in concept and Civ III still too far to hit the shelves, I'm reconsidering give CTP II a try (if first Apolytoners players will give it a good rating ). Your summary is really tantalizing me.
I would like to see only a minor add to this CTP II special:
I feel that some of the improvement of CTP II come from players suggestions (here at Apolyton or by others fans outside).
Could you search and link (or simply underline) when a topic has been suggested a reasonable time ago (I mean, enough time before the official feature preview, that could make realistic any developer has implemented that feature from players suggestion)?
It could simply be a mark "Suggested by Apolytoner too!" stamped near the related game info.
We'll be so proud of it!

the stuff we post in the Great Library were supplied by Activision(our thanks to Lt John btw!), while the stuff posted in the Information comes from the official press releases, the various previews and had actigrammers have posted in our forums
we dont have ctp2 in our hands(yet )

Markos,
I think haveing a link from the feature you're featuring to the forum where it was suggested is a cool idea! Can/would you please, impliment this?

it's a good idea
a few things that come easily to my mind and were probably added after reading the forums(as well as other places of discussions, newsgroups, etc...)
1) borders: it was one of the things that people loved in smac, one of the things that people kept mentioning in comparisons with ctp
2) end-of-game replay feature: we had a poll about it, people asked for it, but it was too close to release to add it
3) improvements in diplomacy: from our preview to the average poster here, it was noted that things could be better. diplomacy was also a strong point in smac's success
there is more stuff, either more generic or more specific...

I'll 'toot my on horn' so to speak. I asked for radar map options (1st suggestion in the 'Minor Suggestions' thread), and, according to the previews:
"The radar map also comes with some neat filters to aid in comprehension"

Hi All,
Don't forget MAD. That was added specifically because lots of people here in the Apolyton Forums asked for it. They even used Harlan's idea for implementing it!

Hey anybody at GenCon I want to see the single city screen, I think this will explain quite well, the new worker concept as well as other thing. CTPII week should not conclude without it.
Oh and Great Job, Dan and Mark, I've been checking the CTPII section every day since.

Just for the books, I appreciate you guys going to so much trouble to give us plenty of CTP2 info. I've been mighty busy with other things over the last week, so I haven't commented much, but you can be sure it's appreciated.
Oh, and I'd still love a peek at the city screen too

Your CTPII Week was a great idea in my opinion. It meant I could finally get my hands on tons of new info and screenshots
( particularly the Great Library section which I hope you continue to update fairly regularly. )
Hope to see more in the way of news soon.
Haven't seen anything sicne CTPII Week.

I hadn't checked up on the CTP forums or info for a while either, so the CTP2 week quite helped me get caught up on where things are at with the game.

Great job!
You two have been good at keeping us up-to-date. Apolyton is truly a site that has earned the respect of both gamers and programmers.
