The way specialty stores like EB and Babbage's get games in a few days before the bigger stores (Best Buy, CompUSA, etc) is by getting a small number right away and express shipping a handful of copies to each of their stores. They should get bigger shipments in around the same time the other chains are getting their copies.

I had a copy on hold at a small store for a cheap price, missed the store closing by a few minutes yesterday. Got there today and the BAS*ARDS sold my copy and had none left, so I stopped by CompUSA and they had a whole shelf of them at $49.99.I was surprised to see they had any.

Got mine early this afternoon at Software Etc. in Vancouver, Washington USA. They had tons of them, but they weren't in the "new releases" rack. Box contained the CD, reference chart, and book. None of all that advertising and registration crap was in the box; a definite relief!

if you're saying that i'm new to civ-style games, then you are way off. if you're saying i'm new to apolyton, you're still only half right. i wasn't a registered user until this fall, but i've been visiting the site for quite a while

Well, this will help me to get my rank a little higher than Settler.
I got it the second week it was out when Best Buy had the price down to $30.
I'm on my second game now. I won the first one, but that was on easy. There have been a couple others I started, but didn't like the way they were going.

I finally bought my copy on Saturday at 47 Singapore dollars (that's about US$27.15 or 18.70pounds).
Like Dan mentioned on the CtP2 page, the game's being snapped up rather quickly over here.

I got it on the 9th(Sat) and been playing it since then hehe poor bastards have to work hehe.
anyway... Never got CTP1 didn't like SMAC so i've been playing Civ2 for the past five years. Finally a good TBS game.
It hasn't crashed once, I'm on my fourth game as the Greeks on medium level(OK I started off low) I've wiped out one full civ and got only one more city in another,1600ad way ahead in techs, twice as strong as anyone else.I think i'll go onto next hardest or even the one after that.
If you don't already have it then hey FUGITIVE is on again it was only on last week heh big mistake anyway BUY IT NOW YOU MAD WEIRD STRANGE PERSON.
pleez the multiplayer rooms are pretty empty.
what's with the bugs in multiplayer.Cant Join a game just sits there saying joining game for ten minutes then says my connection has timed out.
