Pikemen Available too early?

Does anyone else think that pikemen are available too early in the game?
I mean it kind of goes against the whole era of knights dominating the battlefield in medieval europe? Hey it wasn't until at least 1476 that the pikeman arived whereas knights came about much earlier. Surely this should have been obvious during playtesting!

I like how you can get artillery without ever figuring out how to make cannons.

Drawing and quartering preceeded the gun so I reckon we ought to draw and quarter and then shoot them!

Maybe break them on the wheel first so the horses don't have to work so hard?

Yeah, that's one of my major beefs with the game. Facsism is available waaaay too early.

I believe Machine Gunners come too early as well - I made them available a little later - through Mass Production advance.

Plus, I changed the obvious error with Facism like everyone else did - for me, it now requires Industrial Revolution and Mass Media.
