Does anyone know if created scenarious (using the scenario editor in CTPII) may be saved and used in multiplayer internet games? If so, how? This ability would be nice to ensure equal starting positions between players.

not a supported feature. Everyone would have to have the same map to actually play with each other and depending on the scenario, this could cause a lot of problems. There may be a work around. Anyone found a way to do it?

Good morning all from a new user in the UK.

I have just bought CTPII but would mostly like to play it on my laptop, which runs only on Windows NT 4.0

Unfortunately this is not possible - does anyone know of a way around this, or a patch if necessary ?

Cheers,
Neil

control-g shows your progress toward science victory.
When the # in upper-right >= 60% (and you have 10+ controllers and 10+ sattelites), the bar at the top starts flashing. When you hit it, it starts a ten-turn countdown. At the end of the ten turns, the Gaia Controller fires up and you win.

Your problem may simply be that you haven't "launched" yet.

Radius of Obselisks depend of # of sattelites. Have 17+ sattelites for best radius (8).

Note: Obselisks can be built in sea, and in allied territory.

Don't feel bad: I read posts assiduously for a couple weeks before I finally figured all this out. Activision didn't bother explaining any of this -- the manual sucketh big time!

what do the 60% represent? 60% of the world map covered? what exactly increases that number? how far you can "spread out" the obelisks (to cover the most area)?
sorry if this is a stupid question,
Activision should have explained it in the Great Library or at least in the manual.

(1) Yes

(2) More Obselisks and a higher coverage radius. The most efficient pattern would be hexagonal, but you want to place them on your borders to extend into your rivals's territories. I place them on the borders and then fill in as needed.

(3) Max radius = 8 tiles, I think. (with 17+ sattelites). Min radius = 5 tiles (with 10 sattelites, the minimum). I've read that 20 sattelites gives the max radius, so this may be wrong.

(4) this is the help section. it's okay not to know all the answers.

(5) Yes, they should have done, but they didn't. So they're the fools.

I've only played through one long game so far (and several short ones), but there are several things that's bothering me. Here are my questions...

1. Is there any way to keep the Governors from building units? It seems that no matter what focus I put them on (science, etc), they still build military units, even though I don't want any.

2. As many has pointed out, the game seems to play the same track all the time, even if you uncheck the Auto_Replay thing in the Main Menu (if you look at it later, the computer has checked it again). Is the only way to press ESC and manually select the tracks from there?

3. Has anyone else experienced missing space planes? If I tell them to "warp" to a different city, sometimes, they simply disappear (with the unit inside them)! Just gone, like that! No matter how many turns I wait, they don't show up, and they're off the Unit List. Is it supposed to be this way?

A bunch of other stuff was annoying me, as well, but I can't seem to remember them. Anyhow, that was the important stuff.

I hope someone can help, and if these questions have already been answered a zillion times, then I apologize... but I couldn't find the answers on these boards!

Hi,

Sometimes when I am quickly moving units around, I accidently move one into an enemy with whom I am not at war (or an entire fleet into a well defended enemy city for that matter ). Then I have war, which I don't want. Can't there be any warning for that ? (like in civ2) Or "undo last move" ?

Thanks.

Hi all. My problem is when I save a game and try to reload back to it the game crashes to windows and dosnt event tell me why. I had no problem until now. I am in turn 274 and it pisses me off I cant finish it. I will install the patch but have to start a new game cause I noticed the patch dosnt work very well with an old saved game.

Is there anyting I can do before I install the patch?
