Stacking Question
Okay, What are the rules for multi stack in stack stacking.
For instance, Say you created a cruise missle to be carried by fighters or bombers, if the fighters or bombers are carrying cruise missles, then how many aircraft can be stacked together?

So, it's 12 including everything, aircraft plus missles. I guess it isn't possible to find a way to increase the total number of units. Darn it.

yeah, you can create a stack of 12 transports and load (in total) 60 marines onto that stack.
As far as I've been able to find in this forum, and in the CTP2 files, it won't be possible to increase stack size. This limitation is probably hardcoded into the game.
Referring back to your other post in this forum, if you consider that 1 figure will probably not represent 1 "person", but possibly 100s or 1000s, then it may become realistic that you cannot keep pumping units into squares. They'd be standing shoulder to shoulder (which may sound attractive, but have you ever smelt an army in the field )

Hey! In the Scottish divisions, sure.
The English divisions are sweetest smelling soldiers in the world.

TacticalGrace,
That's funny, My grandfather on my mom's side were of Scotch descent.
My 9 mo. old daughter has lovely Red hair.
Gwap,
Thanks for the info, and that's scary. Consider, making an air wing of 12 bombers or fighters with 5 cruise missles or nukes each!!!
Who could ask for a better attack or protection.

Whittlich,
I wouldn't exactly want to do put everythingthing in one basket, afterall someone has ocupy the cities.
But seriously, if you needed a fast response to barbarians or an invasion (theirs or yours,
Having a few fighters with missles would be great.
Another project would be to have Cruise missles launching from Cruisers.
I think Destroyers should be able to see and fight Subs.

I'm definitely thinking about creating a transport plane unit sometime, because the choppers are desperately slow, although they have the advantage of not having to refuel; but it takes too long to get to space plane.
I would suggest a Hercules C130 (or something) which would hold (again) 5 units, but can move for 3 turns at rate of 10. Gives you nice range. And you'll have something more "strikeforcy" to use with the paras.

you could use the c-17 from CtP1, but the AI wont have a clue how to use it i'm guessing.

Ah, I see that in the list of Sprites shipped with the game comes an Air Transprot (GU54.SPR). It doesn't appear to be commented out in any of the files, so some work for me to do there then
I guess that would be your sprite from CTP1

But that won't make much difference to the game because the AI doesn't have a clue about how to use any transport unit. most of the time it wont even attack them, even when at war. (AI Frenzy mod will though).
That said, its not just transports, the AI doent know how to use units full stop.
