Everytime I start a new game, the same set of civilizations are used by the computer. Diversification of the civs is one of the greatest parts about the Civ games. Please tell me there's a way to randomize, or AT LEAST choose different civs. And how does the computer choose this set of civs? Is it preprogrammed or just randomly chosen once? Eh? Thanks
The only way I've heard of is to set your difficulty to the one above beginner, but before that go into your userporfile.txt and change it to randomai (i think) from No to Yes. I know this is a pain in the ass for all the beginners (such as me) because I know I don't function well but thats the price CTP2 gave the beginners. Also once you play above the level above beginner if you go back to beginner/easy the userprofile.txt resets its self to non-random AI. Hope that helped, I think a patch should be made, but thats my opinion.
Yankeesguy23 is right. (And not just because he's a Yankee fan -- although in my book, that's pretty sufficient. ).
The specific line you are looking for is:
NonRandomCivs = YES
must be changed to
NonRandomCivs = NO.
As long as you don't play on the two easiest levels, the game will generate random civilizations.
