Well, I put another operating system on my computer (duel boot now - Windows ME and Windows 2000), any way, I figured I would load the command client instead of the full version (to try and get more speed). After I did this, there were sah files scattered all over my desk top!
So I deleted the command client version and got rid of all of those sah files, then loaded up the 3.03 full version (in Windows 2000). Haven't had any problems since - but it still takes me between 14-15 hrs per unit to complete and that's with a 866MHZ processor and 512MB RAM.

No problems here. I use the CLI under Win98 with SetiGate to cache workunits and my sah files are only in the Seti-client directory.

Great another user. we can always use more, Thanks.
On another note, anybody been seeing anything weird since upgrading to V3.03 of the client. When using both the GUI and CLI clients, I get *.sah files scattered all across my hard drive in all kinds of directories. The first time I noticed this, I found 1800 SAH files to delete (outside the Seti directory). Has anybody run into anything like this?

I had the GUI version installed then switched over to the CLI. I haven't had any files show up outside of the directories they're supposed to be in. Just did a scan of my system to make sure and everything came up okay. I don't have any idea what could cause that.

I've been in offices with ~40 SETI clients running around. If PCs are on for 24 hrs a day, it's very efficient.

Nooooooh, please spare me Ah, I'm no match for you with my butt-slow P200. And due to some crashes I haven't been able to use SETI for weeks. Too lazy to download it again...

Well, I finally did it too. My goal for the last 6 months has been to make it to fourth place and I hit that mark this past weekend. I guess now I will try to hang on to fourth for a couple of months and then that will be that.
Welcome Moondog. I see you found you could add your units to the Apolyton total. As for how many computers I have running, that just about depends on what day of the week it is. I have a Novell network in my house and I try to keep 6 computers online at any given time. This is for multiplayer gaming as my house is the local gaming center. In the early days, I tried to keep Seti on 4 or 5 computers but now days I just run it on 2. I have moved on to the United Devices Cancer program and run that on most of my computers now. With the failure of CtP2, playing Diablo2 on Battle.Net has totally taken over my network and most people turn off the clients when they play and fail to turn them back on when they are done. As I am in the middle of a struggle with Cancer myself, I don't tend to ensure the clients get turned back on when they are done like I used to.
