Help Please
I have created my own map to use in Call to Power II, but I cannot seem to place the civizations I want on the map for their starting locations.
Here's an example: I click to place Americans at a starting location, but for some reason, Persians are placed instead! Can anyone explain this logic? How does anyone else place the civilizations they want? And one last thing - how can one delete a civilization if they change their mind?
Thanks for any help!

Does anyone know how to place civilizations of their choice on the maps they create and edit?

the wrong is that this is a forum for fans and when someone asks for help, he asks for FREE help. i dont think the best thing to do when you ask for someone to help him for free is to keep nagging him...
if he spend some more time with the editor instead of making these posts, he would probably figure it out...

Prehaps Mr. Fun should try the "help" forum if he is looking for help.
On the other hand, it was hilarious reading all the posts with him asking and no one responding. I wonder if he could make Warload by doing this? Maybe in a few weeks be up to Prince, then who knows. (I'm feeling a bit goofy this morning, btw.)
Myself, I don't even have a commercial copy of the game yet to know what the problem might be.

MarkG, I do not see anything wrong with asking help for a legitimate problem in the Help forum. I was seeking an answer to a basic problem that apparently no one else has any knowledge of.
It's a simple question - how do you place civiilizations of your choice under the Empire tab in the map editor?

You place a settler of the type you want, and
settle it. This "places" the civilization. Or
do I not understand what you are asking?

Thanks!
I will try that and see if it works, and if it does, then I will get rid of any blonde roots I have (even though I'm naturally dark hair).

Thanks for the Civ3 info Marko and thanks for the reply on this thread.
I think you do a great job here BTW. I think some of us just getting our hands on this new game want to make it suited to our own tatses and we get frustrated with how difficult ATVI has made both versions for people who wish to modify and create scenarios.
Bet your job got harder with this new release than it has been since the release of CTP 1 huh?

It is a creation problem though Marko. I mean... the forums are kinda there to "help" and what's the point if they are just for fan mail?
I'll be in the same boat Mr.Fun, just give me a week to familiarize myself with the game. I intend to do the same thing as soon as possible.
This was one of the big problems with CTP1 if I recall. You could pick the civilization, but all the established relationships between civs could not be changed. I recall the big 24 civ world map being a great map but clumsy to make scenarios with bc the Americans always had diplomatic relations with the Romans and the Romans always had this patch in North America visible to them. In Civ2 you could "wipe" a civilizations diplomatic history and pre-establish relationships the way you saw fit. I sure hope that kind of flexibility is present in CTP2.
BTW, wasn't it MicroProse that made Civ2? Are they in the game for Civ3? I sure hope it's someone other than ATVI.
