This vote amounts to threadjacking - if you want to have a vote, do it in your own thread.
*As Convenor of the Threadjacking Appreciation Society, on the other hand, I congratulate Ming for his efforts *

While I certainly respect the wishes of the thread starter, I am alarmed at his (its?) decree about voting. The matter has not been properly debated. I therefore vote that we commence a discussion on whether to take a vote.
At this point, I have no opinion on the topic.

Yes, let's start a vote (after nearly a month of senseless discussion and endless spamming , you all should be content with this solution...).
I admit, I'm not sure whether this would show another truth than one can read in the posts. This truth is, that nearly everybody's opinion is "Yes, they should be able". I think if the thread had been opened by anyone who had not always been famous for "threadjacking" and "spamming" and all these activities one should be punished for (and one becomes also punished, following the Apolyton rules... ), most Apolytoners would have paid more attention to it (the thread).

Official due date is today, but since we live on a mountain, it is taking a long time to fill the food box... could be a week yet. You are on the eBaby quick list, so you should know almost as soon as I do!

LOL. Good thing you can have marketplaces, temples and the like on that mountain. I'd hate for you to have to raise your kid(s) in a fortress or, worse, out in the open.

Hey Horse, the Convenor of the Threadjacking Appreciation Society's own thread's been hijacked! How very post-modern.

If safeguarding my people from military invasion and protecting my kingdom's cities from hostile foreign domination is being a wimp, then you can call me "KING WIMP"!
(Sound of french horn fanfares and delirious cheering as "We Love the Emporer" days spontaneously break forth in all cities, especially those on mountains)

Perhaps that's true, but then how would you account for the french horn fanfare?
BTW, what are those things called that you always see pictures of the Swiss playing while up in the mountains? You know, those real long horns that rest one end on the ground?

Bird -
I'm sorry to say that those horns the Swiss play are simply called "Alpine Horns". At least the name is accurate, unlike french horns which are neither french nor horns!

BeKind, AH starts new threads all the time--it's just that you need to be over in OT to see them.
If you don't like this thread, just ignore it, and you can be sure that it will ignore you.
Do you really consider this spam? You seem to have a different definition of the word than I do...
BTW, I just noticed your e-mail addy; do you work for the US Geological Survey, or does USGS stand for something else? Just curious...

Yea, I work for USGS. In fact I am trying to send up a Civ II map to ACS that I made using USGS data.

I don't know why AH is complaining about people building cities on mountains when he can be complaining about people building cities on mountain squares with a river running through it. (find me ONE city built on a mountain in the middle of a river that has more than 50,000 people in it.)

Maybe your handle is ironic, too. Are you really a horse? Anyway, I guess you have never seen a player build a city on a mountain square with a river in it (I have), otherwise you would have complained against that even more fiercly .

sorry, but the random map generator will NEVER put a river tile on a mountain tile. Only custom maps might have this.

Forgive me this post, but I've never seen a river through a mountain square. What's up with that?
