watching the ai play
(again) from the strategy guide:
typing /rnd 100 in the chat box("'" key) will play 100 turns without the human player, allowing you to watch how the ai personality you just modified plays...

Hey,
I knew that activision had to have some such code! Now it is public!
One other problem with mods - do you have to restart the game every time you change the game database files (such as DiffDB)? I know that for .slc files, you can use the cheat mode to load the files.

I did a little testing on this and you can set how many rounds you want. I tried various ones from /rnd 10 to /rnd 100 and they all worked. The game just skips the human player for x number of rounds.
This of course lead me to look for others. As best I can tell, so far, the ChatTextField accepts
/attach
/detach
/exportmap
/importmap
/reloadslic
/resetlos
/resetstrings
/rnd
Could just be humor on the coders part but 2 others appear to be
pacman
toe
Anybody know what they are/do?

One of the diplomacy files in /gamedata had some commands like 'chooseproposal' to test the diplomacy slic files. Perhaps these will work over chat too ... Just a guess.
